GiroMonaco II Gel Glove - Men's
Item # GIR00E5
Refined padding for long-distance jaunts.
From touring across Napa's vineyards to cranking up Colorado's Loveland Pass, the Giro Monaco II Gel Glove maintains comfort for the long haul with its cushy gel padding, well-ventilated design, and superior fit. Technogel padding dissipates jarring vibration coming through the handlebars. This is especially useful on longer rides where wrist and hand fatigue are common.
Maintaining grip and dexterity, the Pittards ventilated leather palm maintains tactile control between your hands and bars. Breathable mesh along the backside maintains a cool, comfortable feel, especially when temperatures climb into oppressive realms. For rides when you're sweating profusely, the microfiber thumb lends a soft, absorbent wiping surface.
- Dexterity and shock absorption for longer rides
- Technogel padding dissipates jarring road vibration
- Pittards ventilated leather palm for grip and dexterity
- Breathable mesh increases ventilation on warmer rides
- Double-stitched for durability and tear-resistance
- Soft microfiber wiping surface along thumb
- Low-profile strap for a secure fit

The Giro Monoco Gloves have evolved from being a very good mid priced glove ten years ago to being absolute trash on the current version. Stitching tears in hours, uncomfortable, they don't last. I'd like to say to to XYZ company for good gloves but I haven't found that company yet.

Nice looking gloves

Comfortable gloves. Like the leather ventilated palms side and great for Florida summers, kind of elegant feel. They run small usually I'm a large and had to order a X-large and still feels snug. If you have small hands may feel true to size but for regular man size hands they do run small. They don't last too long. Mostly brakes for the seems on the Velcro but I really like them in white so I order a second pair. CCyclist delivered right on time. Thanks.

I bought three pairs of these gloves — after having used and loved them in the past — but these latest three were terrible! The seams have busted out on all of them. The gel pads have fallen out. Even the palms (where there are no seams) have worn through. Literally falling apart everywhere. I’ve only used each pair 3 or 4 times on my road bike and I haven’t crashed or anything. Very disappointing. I’ve put in warranty claims to CC...no response so far. Sad.

I like the gloves

Okay, the sizing stinks, but the glove has worked well for me so far. I have white tape on my drops so I wanted non-black palms. I like the padding, the vented back and the padding. Good nose wipe, too. If the glove fails down the road, I will update my review, but so far so good.

Numbness
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Very disappointed in this glove. The gloves cause numbness in my fingers and hands. Very uncomfortable especially on a long ride. I don't think it caused by sizing cause it fits fine. I think it caused by the design. Would not recommend these gloves.

Lasted less than a year, too small

Bought in July 2018, used on a regular basis up until today. Realized this morning that the palms on both gloves were wearing very thin. Realized this afternoon that the seam had totally failed and busted outright on one of them. I did not put crazy miles or crashes/skids on these gloves, just regular moderate wear. I've had far cheaper Pearl Izumi gloves last for years and thousands of miles longer than these. This is a below-budget tier product sold at a premium price. Do not buy. Size runs a little smaller than claimed measurements, if you do choose to buy anyway.

got the black. functionality good in correct size but there is a crazy amount of extra dye - have soaked them several times in sink, water turns completely black (can't be good for enviro) and I still end up w black hands after a sweaty ride.

Sizing is really bad!!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
As everyone else has said before, the size is WAY off. I normally wear a mens medium. I had to go to the XL and that fits okay at best.

Comparing to: Giro Bravo, comfortable and durable. Assos gloves I've owned seemed nothing special, and were not colorfast. The negative MII reviews here and elsewhere mostly address the sizing; it's off, but I don't see that as a negative; once you read the reviews, just order up and you should be very happy with these. Same fit as the Bravo, but 1-1.5 times smaller, so order 1 up if you like more-snug and 2 up if you like less-snug. (If you have really big hands, you're probably out of luck; sorry) The Bravos fit me fine at Medium, and these fit fine at Large. The Bravos are great, but these are a step up. The first thing I noticed was the comfort of the pads; not squishy, but extremely well-positioned. Very comfortable. The lycra cuff feels very good. The wrist strap locks better and lies flatter. The mesh backs ventilate very well. The pull loops are fine, but for my hands, the glove's snugness negates the use of the loops. I got the white, and the black in the thumb backside is good for wiping. When I slip these on, they immediately seem good looking and especially comfortable and functional.

The LG was too small and then I ordered an XL which was also too small. I couldn't even get my hand in the XL. The Monaco II Gel FAILS.

As with any "personal" item, fit varies from one person to the next. This item does not "fail" (for me it is very comfortable), it simply does not fit your hand.
