Manta R Shoes

The Giro Women's Manta R Shoes serve as a refreshing update to the original Manta, preserving all the qualities riders loved while updating the outsole to co-molded nylon and rubber for an impeccable mix of comfort, stiffness, and grip. A rubber toe guard also increases the new Manta R's lifespan by protecting the leading edge of the shoes on the most technical trails.

The Manta R's closure system consists of a ratcheting buckle at the top and two hook-and-loop straps across the midfoot and toe box that are easily adjustable on the fly for a secure, comfortable fit. The upper is made of breathable microfiber and features perforations for added cooling and a sleek, minimalist profile.

Giro incorporates a co-molded nylon and rubber outsole with grippy, high traction lugs for confident foot placement on and off the bike. The outsole's tread pattern also accommodates flat pedal riding while providing debris clearance for two-bolt clipless pedals, so they'll travel with you between disciplines.

  • Updated shoe for adventures on your mountain bike
  • Nylon and rubber outsole provides traction and rigidity
  • Breathable microfiber upper provides plenty of airflow
  • Ratcheting buckle won't stretch as you ride
  • Hook-and-loop straps customize the midfoot and toe box
  • Rubber toe guard defends you in technical terrain
  • Aegis treatment reduces the buildup of odors

    Nice shoe

I returned this product before using it
    True to size

These shoes fit really well when I tried them on. I was worried about that based on other reviews but went with my usual cycling shoe size and all is fine. I am a solid 6 and always wear a 37 cycling shoe. They feel nice and solid. I didn't realize that the Mantra R are not carbon fiber, so I am sending back and ordering the Sica VR70....my fault for not reviewing specs more closely. These are actually pretty stiff, though, for not being carbon fiber.

    so so small

    Size Bought

I'm sure this would be a 5-star review if these shoes fit and didn't run (what seems like) 3 sizes too small. I normally wear a size 10 in athletic shoes. Ordered these in a 43, and they're still atleast 1-2 sizes too small. Super bummer.

    Great Shoe

I've put it through the wringer

These are great shoes! I Am glad I followed the reviews and sized up. I usually wear a 39 to 39.5 but sized up to a 40. They were a little narrow but fit perfectly after a few rides.

    Great Multipurpose Shoe!

I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    Runs small

This is my first pair of cycling shoes and so far so good! I wear a women's size 7, but ordered a 38.5 because of previous reviews that the shoe ran small. I love the buckle at the top of the shoe because it allows me to tighten or loosen it easily. I ride a road bike but wanted more of a mountain bike shoe because they are easier to walk in and I want to get into mountain biking down the road. I would recommend the Giro Mantra R!

    Solid Giro MTB Shoes

    I've used it several times
    True to size

These were my first pair of mountain bike shoes and have been great shoes, especially if you are just starting to clip in while riding. They are durable and solid, easy to adjust and tighten, and fit well especially since my feet are not super narrow. They are also very comfortable and had no issues breaking them in my first couple of rides. I normally wear a size 8 shoe and got the size 41 which fit perfectly.

    Giro Steady

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    Runs small
    5` 5"
    125 lbs

I owned my last pair of Giro bike shoes for a good two seasons of biking (over 150 days), and the shoes proved themselves time and again. They provide a tight fit, and the sole makes them perfect when its time to hike a bike. From previous experience I knew to size up . Although I haven't used these shoes often, my other Giro's proved to last through more serious mnt. bike adventures.

    Definitely Size Up!

    I've used it several times
    Runs small

I got the Manta R shoes for a friend, and based on Mags' review and my own experience with Giro shoes, I got them a size larger. They were still too small, mostly in the last width by the toes. I returned them and went up another half size (up 1.5 sizes overall), and they fit her perfectly. The Manta Rs seem durable, have good grip for hiking, and look rad! Just be sure to size up.

    Size up!

I've been wearing a 40 in most other shoes but had to go up to a 42 in these. Once I found the right size, they're SO comfortable. Because the cleat is recessed under the green lug parts of the sole, they're easy to walk around in- I plan to wear these for cyclocross, but you could also wear for more serious MTB.

These look like mine, which are men's version, all our bike shop had, yet because they are European size they fit lovely. I would order these pictured in a 42, but wear a 40 as well (size 9 USA). Mine are made out of carbon, and really, won't wear another brand. They have held up so well, and I wear the MTB shoes for road riding. Won't slide on pavement when meeting with the bike club for lunch.
