LX LF Cycling Glove

Much like a pair of supple leather driving gloves, Giro's LX Long-Finger Cycling Gloves are the finishing touch to your road ensemble. Suited for the days you want to stay warm in style, the gloves use gel padding inserted in a durable Pittards WR100X leather palm to protect your hands from road vibrations and reduce fatigue during long rides. A mix of perforated leather supplemented with temperature-managing wool inserts surrounds the rest of your hands, providing a contoured fit and allowing the gloves to continuously conform to the shape of your hands over time. The gloves are secured with a pull tab and hook-and-loop strap at the wrist.

  • Moto-inspired gloves for cycling in cool weather
  • Pittards WR100X leather palm is padded with 3mm of gel
  • Leather body construction gradually adapts to your hand shape
  • Clarino synthetic leather pull tab and strap secure the cuff

On my 4th pair

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: large

I would give these a "5" if the first pair I bought hadn't unravelled in the finger area after a few 100 miles. If you prefer long fingered gloves these are the best I've found. They do run a little small. A "L" in these is about a "M" in Pearl Izumi

Fantastic Gloves!

Back in the day, when we didnt have shifters, and wheels were made of stone, a small company made unpadded gloves out of Pittards leather. Like a good driving or worn in work glove, they were fantastic. I wish I would have known how good they were. Would have bought 100 pair. That company is still in business, much much bigger, but their use of Pittards brand leather in cycling gloves is long long gone.

So in my quest to find a decent pair of full finger gloves, I discovered these. Even better, I found them on sale, and decided to give them a shot. I've worn a single pair on every road ride for over 2 years, easy. No holes, stitching still really good.

Wear them a bunch before you wash them...and then air dry the first 4-5 times. The black dye will bleed a little at first, but thats a minor criticism in my opinion of what I consider the best cycling glove made.

They fit like a driving glove, and as I recall were made in 5-6 sizes, so get the right one.
I've found these are really good gloves. If you find them on sale, even better.

Absolutely beautiful, but tiny!

Super duper deluxe gloves. Some of the nicest cycling gloves available. But they are sized small, the mediums are too small for me and I usually wear medium gloves.

These are some of my best cycling gloves I own. I've worn them for many miles on my road rides, True to size fit, very comfortable.I bought them in black very good looking gloves. I wear them in the 50's to low 60's range.

Back in Black

I got the black version of these gloves so I didn't have the color issues that another reviewer had. The gloves work great, zero complaints.

Good Gloves

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Super gift! Quality workmanship, materials. Love the palm padding and grip design – 4 stars as I haven’t worn them enough yet!

Do the job, but......

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

When its hot out and my hands sweat, they end up completely black, and it doesn't wash off very easy.

Good but Not For Long

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

Good: The initial feel of the gloves is awesome. I got a large size, which fit a little snug, but opens up and conforms to your hand as leather should. The merino kept my hands at a good temperature both when it was cold or hot out.

Bad: The downside, at least from experience, was the quality control of Giro for this product. It might have been a large stroke of bad luck, but I had to return this product 3 times: First for getting a deformed pair and the second and third for having a seam pop in a place it shouldn't have. The third time I just gave it in for a refund. All times aided by good customer service from BackCountry.

If you want a leather cycling glove, look elsewhere if you don't want the hassle.

I, too wanted to like these gloves but had to return two pair because of a defect in construction in the thumb/index finger area. The fit of one glove was so tight that it was painful to wear. Think this would have been my go to cross race gloves, but Giro really blew it on quality control.

Quite comfortable and look great

These gloves are very comfortable, fit true, and look fantastic. I’ve been wearing them when the weather is 45-60F and they keep me plenty warm. I gave them 4-stars because I noticed that after a few weeks the seam on the back near the thumb started to unravel. It looks to be a pretty simple fix with some thread, but I’m wary of the construction quality now and wonder if they will hold up another season.
