GiroLX Glove - Men's
Item # GIR00C7
A nod to the classics.
We love seeing the newest fabrics and technologies featured in cycling gloves, but a classic full leather glove will never go out of style. Giro introduces its LX Glove with a modern perforated leather upper, allowing the gloves' upper to be lighter and more breathable than solid leather would be. With Giro’s Super Fit Engineering, every part of the LX is designed to conform to your hand. The LX features 3mm of durable Technogel padding on the palm to cushion your hands from fatiguing road vibrations, and its Three-Piece Palm construction provides a tailored fit that gives you an articulated grip on the bars. Giro also uses durable Pittards leather for the palm, making sure that your prefect grip is built to last.
- Cycling gloves for a smooth, comfortable ride
- Pittards leather is durable yet flexible
- Perforated upper provides plenty of airflow
- Technogel padding absorbs vibration for comfy wrists
- Hook-and-loop closure for easy on and off

I wore a pair for ~3 years till I somehow managed to lose one. It tells you something about how much I loved them that I still have the one that's left, just in case the missing one turns up. They are wonderfully comfortable, supple, and grippy. They're also slightly warmer than nylon or lycra gloves, which here in Vancouver isn't a bad thing: it's often a bit chilly even in summer, but not so much that you want to go with long finger gloves -- the Giros hit the sweet spot on those days. I also had a bit of black dye bleed off but not enough to bother. And I never had any issues with them shrinking even after heavy sweat. (Unlike a far more expensive pair of leather gloves from a famous UK manufacturer I won't name -- they shrank to the point of becoming unwearable and stiff as a 2x4, no matter how much conditioner I used.)

Avoid the dyed black color...
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- Runs small
Pros: 1. super soft leather with a good amount of padding in all of the right places. 2. Classic good looks. 3. Comfortable, if you get the correct size. Cons: 1. Black dye bleeds badly if you sweat a little or have ridden in the rain. The black dye is difficult to get off your skin. 2. Nose wipe pad on back of thumb is next to useless - the ultra soft microfiber wipes away nothing. 3. The mesh fabric that is on the inside of each finger is very fragile - after the 2nd or 3rd ride, the stitches here tore, leaving a 1-2cm hole. 4. SIZE UP! I wear a size small in every manufacturer, including other models from Giro. But the velcro strap barely attaches halfway on with these LX gloves, and the fingers are tight. They have broken in, but NOT gotten larger in the dozen or so rides. Still are too tight. I would 100% recommend that you size up if you buy these. I also recommend you AVOID the black color. That said, I still might buy these again if I can get them in the tan color, with the same discount. If I paid full price I'd be upset. The picture shows before and after scrubbing my hands...

Little tight between the fingers
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I wore these for the first time today and they were really soft, worked well with my lizard skins bar tape. It felt like these were going to last a long time, maybe with some conditioner they will. However early in the morning when it was cold out they seem to really constrict my skin a lot. But once the day picked up and got warmer they seem to stretch a little bit more. I think I need to wear them a few more times to get the space between the fingers work escape out as they were pretty tight.

This pair replaces a four year old pair of LX gloves which had started to show their age. The new pair are wonderfully soft, comfortable, and fit perfectly. Only quibble is the Velcro tabs are a bit short and not as strong as the old ones, but the slightly less powerful Velcro also means it's less likely to grab on other gear and ruin it. Overall the best mitts I've owned. Be sure to treat them properly though - like all leather they occasionally need leather conditioner to keep them supple.

They look GREAT and are very comfortable. The problem is they do not last. I wore through these in 6 months. Leather just doesn't handle sweat like synthetic. They would get stiff when dry and shrink a little. I would love to be able to replace them every 6-8 months, though.

Soft pliable leather glove true to size. Color is not pretentious. Only wish they came in full finger length. Bit warm for hot weather.

The best I have ever had. Quite simply, they do the job for me by allowing me a sure grip on the handles, comfortable feel both in my palms and fingers, and an excellent fit-with size large. And the tan calf color allow this Dad to look cool!! Ha...

Classic style and comfort
- Familiarity:

Finally found a proper pair of classy, fingerless gloves that have plenty of padding on the palms for really long days on the trail. They fit true to size and form to you to fit better over time. The saying, “fits like a glove”, probably originated with these fingerless mitts. Highly recommended for any mountain biker that wants to go for a classic look and full function. I have not had these long so unable to comment on durability.

Not sure if its worth it

I really want to like this glove, great looks and materials, the padding is best I've found. However these gloves have the same flaw as the cheapest textile Giro gloves with same style of padding. The Microfiber tears where it is sewn to the leather palm.

I have ulna nerve issues in one arm and I've had other padded gloves but these are the best. While leather may be a little warmer than the synthetics, these are super comfortable with amazing padding and protection. I'll find out in a few months if too hot for summer riding.
