Item # GIR002Q

The answer for warm-weather cycling.

Enjoy endless versatility and unheard-of comfort with the Giro Hoxton SF Gloves. The Hoxton SF is ideal for all types of warm-weather riding, whether road or mountain. Giro combined odor-fighting merino wool, leather, and Ax synthetic suede for unsurpassed comfort and durability.

You'll immediately notice how much better the Hoxton SF Gloves feel than your typical, run-of-the-mill cycling gloves. Giro designed the Hoxton around its Super Fit Engineering process in order to develop the gloves with a guided fit, design, and patterning. What does this mean? Basically, through rigorous research, Giro designed the palm, fingers, and padding to conform to various shapes and sizes of hands.

Leather-palmed gloves were the height of chic back in the day. But after a month or two of heavy use, the leather palms would become so cracked and coarse that they just weren't comfortable anymore. Giro combats this by using Ax synthetic suede leather for the palms. Ax synthetic doesn't absorb water and then dry out, becoming brittle — it stays soft and flexible. This is ideal for applications like mountain biking, where durability and tactile feel are so important.

Giro Hoxton SF Gloves are available in sizes Small to XX-Large and come in the colors Black/Heather and Mono Grey.

So far

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

... so good! Really good! In a world of gloves that feel like diapers on your hands (too much padding!), these feel wonderfully old school. Just the leather palm side, plenty for wiping tires while still feeling connected to the bike. If you're the type who would just assume go bare handed, these should be on your short list to try. The merino/poly on the back might initially feel warm, but after a couple rides, I didn't feel uncomfortable at all even on days approaching 90f, and they're great for wiping sweat from the brow without ever feeling saturated. So far no stink either. I've rinsed them quickly in cold water a couple of times and they've dried overnight for the next day's spin. How long they'll last is the big question, but so far they're the new go to's. (No rain yet, so no comment if the leather gets slick on the bars or not.)

Love em'

I bought these gloves to wear during my bike commutes and when I go curb jumping from errand to errand.
First off the wool upper is amazing! I get clammy hands and these wick moisture and dry very quickly. I am concerned about the durability of the wool upper over time if they will last for awhile or not.
The padding on the palm is great the 3 piece palm construction provides a great fit as well as comfort where you need it. Also the little air holes in the palm are perfect!
I bought a size large, I have fat large palms and stubby fingers and the Large fit snug, but comfy.
Also It has to little tabs things on the fingers that are helpful in getting the gloves off.

Excellent gloves!

I have several Giro gloves and I usually rotate usage to extend the life of each pair, but I end up using this one most. It has become my default glove. I do road in a tropical country and the thought of wearing anything wool over here is crazy, but these work great in hot and humid conditions. When setting out for 100-160km rides, this is the one I choose over the others. The suede is great for wiping drips from the face (and nose) and it has been through the washing machine at least once a week with no problem. It fits perfectly, like a glove should.

Ordered L; too small; UPC label on glove said M-L; returned them.

I have two other pairs of Giro gloves - the Tessa Gel Glove - Women's, and the LA DND Glove - Women's. Both are a size S, and both fit like a glove (hehe, couldn't resist.) However, I didn't realize the sizing for these were in men's (my b.) So ladies, size down from what you normally would order.

Gave it 3 stars because the color was off - I ordered Industrial Green, expecting a bright turquoise color. Instead, they were a muted teal (the opposite of bright). Wool felt super cool though, and there's minimal padding (as you'd expect looking at the product pictures). Bummed I'm gonna have to send them back.

Awesome pair of gloves!

This is a great warm-weather glove, The wool feels great on your hands, and holds up really well no matter what kind of riding you are doing. Would definitely purchase again.

Used these gloves for the first time last night on a 70 mile ride in 90 degree weather. I was a little worried about wearing a wool glove in these kind of temps but the worries were soon put aside. They breath really well and i love the feel of the wool. The padding is very minimal which i prefer. No complaints here and i will be buying a few more pairs.

Soft, comfortable, breathes in the hottest most humid conditions. Padding minimal but does the job. Dries out and ready to go tomorrow. What ever else would you need in gloves????

I live in Florida. No hotter or more humid place on earth. Tarzan hot here. Merino breathes exceptionally well. My go to glove everyday. We have 100%humidity and "feels like" 107* weather. Isn't summer wonderful?

Unanswered Question

I just bought a pair, and it has no padding whatsoever, despite the card saying there is 3mm GEL padding. Is this a lemon pair, or is there really no padding in this glove?

Best Summer Gloves

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Best gloves I've ever owned. Light, super fit and enough padding. Love them...

I live in Oklahoma where temperatures and heat index regularly hit above 100. Would these gloves be good for that temp.? I worry about the wool being too hot.

The "Glowing Red" version looks almost like fluo orange on my monitor. What would be a better color description?
