Item # GIR003F

Because fit is a key factor.

The Giro Factor ACC Shoe’s stiff carbon sole and microfiber upper give it race-ready response, with the fine tuning you need for long training rides as well. Thanks to the three-buckle adjustments, you’re able to achieve a near-custom fit — a trait bolstered by the SuperNatural Fit Kit. And with the Easton EC90 sole, you won’t waste precious watts when it comes time to tear your buddy’s legs off on that long climb.

Starting at the uppers, they were wrapped with Evofiber microfiber. This fabric is exceptionally lightweight and highly breathable, featuring perforations for added cooling. This contributes not only to the sleek, wind-cheating profile, but it also reduces weight. Adding to this is the light and stiff Easton EC90 ACC carbon sole. One of the stiffest soles in the industry, it features a low 6.5mm stack height that mates with the uppers for unrivaled power transfer. The lower the stack height, the closer the cleats, and thereby your feet, are to the pedals. This minimizes power loss that occurs with thicker cleat plates. The footbed is Giro's SuperNatural Fit Kit with an adjustable arch support. It has X-Static antimicrobial fiber to keep odors at bay.

The Factor ACCs are secured with a three buckle system. The strap closest to the ankle is a ratcheting MR-1 buckle, while the two medial straps are hook-and-look closures. The middle strap features an offset D-ring, which helps to pull the shoe securely against your arch.

The Giro Factor ACC Shoes available in whole and half sizes from 39.0 to 46.5, and in whole sizes 47.0 to 50.0, and in the colors Matte Black/gloss black, Matte White/black, and Red/white.

couldnt be happier

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Ive got a few hundred miles in these now and LOVE them. They came with a few different arch inserts, so that helped customize them to my feet. Low stack height. Easy to walk in with Keo cleats. Very comfortable. Sizing is spot on. Easy to adjust to your feet, even on the bike as the ride goes on. Cant say enough good about these shoes.

Great all around shoes!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was previously a Specialized shoe rider or Diadora. These two make exceptional shoes if the fit your foot. Sidi is also a good shoe maker if they fit your foot as well. Then I thought I would try these Factors for a change of pace! They felt a little tight in mid-foot when new, but after putting about 300 miles on them they have molded to my foot shape well. My only complaint, though it is pretty much the same for most all top shoe makers, is that the insoles are nothing to write home about! I simply installed a new set of Specialized BG Insoles and they were completely transformed instantly!!

Horrible Shoe - Going back to SIDI

I could never get these shoes to be comfortable. Not with any of the inserts or even with none. Too stiff around the mid foot and just plain miserable to wear. I started with a Giro Empire. One was defective out of the box. Gave these a try and they just seem to be poorly made. And they are impossible to clean. I was riding Sidi and I'm going back. You get what you pay for and more with SIDI! An important note: Everyone I've dealt with at Competitive Cyclist has been phenomenal in making sure I'm satisfied with my purchase. I'm now back on SIDI thanks to them, and I couldn't be happier. Thanks!

That's just like, your opinion man. The Factor is not horrible. It's awesome. In fact the whole Giro line is. I'm between sizes in most every other shoe and the Giro line fits me fine. I own three pairs. To say these shoes are poorly made is just plain ignorance. They are a high quality item. The fit is subjective to each individual. Please don't go throwing around insults at innocent shoes. Maybe it was your foot that was defective out of the box and too soft around the mid foot, and you're just trying to blame the shoes.

I'm with you, I ride heavy duty for 57 yr old, during season avg. 200 miles weekly, I got well over 4k on those shoes, same old buckles straps etc. just changes cleats normal wear & best of all no major foot sore, especially the bunions. I also like Sidi top line stuff, but this is a great value for the dollar.

    Great shoe!!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have a wider foot than normal but not wide enough to buy extra wide shoes. These fit perfectly! Very comfortable from the first ride. Light weight and a super stiff thin carbon sole. It's great to go out for 40-50 miles and when finished you realize that you never thought about your shoes! That's when you know you've got a winner.
