They do a good job keeping my shoes on my feet.

Do you get laces for both shoes? Because mine came in and it doesn’t look like it. And they aren’t for me. They are for a friend. So I can’t open them. It doesn’t look like it enough for 56” for 2 shoes.

Hi Ryker, Yes, each purchase should include a full set, one lace per shoe. If you did not receive 2 laces give us a call or chat in and we can get you set up with a replacement in no time. Cheers, Andrew Williams Backcountry Gearhead

Yes, laces included for both shoes. Doesn't look like it, but they both are there.

If I'm a size 41.5, what length laces do I need? I really don't want to pull the laces out of my shoe until I have new ones in hand.

    Laces that did Their Homework

    Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Giro made waves in the cycling world a few seasons ago when they brought back lace-up cycling shoes with the Empire. At the time they talked about making the laces as solid and reliable as the other closure systems in use on cycling shoes. Compared to the laces on average athletic and cycling shoes, the Giro Empire Laces stretch less, stay tied better, and do not break. The color selection is a bonus! Consider them an upgrade for any active lace-up shoe.

Picked these up to replace the broken lace on my Five Ten's. They fit and laced up just fine, time will tell if they hold up to the rigors of MTB riding.

These laces are so high quality I use them for several of my other shoes. I have replaced the strings on 2 of my Vans skate shoes and haven't gone back to the traditional cotton laces. BUY EM!

Bought them for some skate shoes that I had worn out the laces. Good stuff!

I see an orange pictured above, but no orange in the selection. Is orange "Glowing Red" and red "Bright Red?" or are they both reds and there is currently no orange selectable?

Hey Sam, The "glowing red" is the orange in the photo you have posted, while "bright red" is the red one. Feel free to give a shout to my direct line 801.204.4547 or email cojohnson@backcountry.com if you have any any other questions or would like help sizing for the correct lace! Cheers, Connor

I bought the Puke Green Laces and installed them on my Empire shoes in the new "Steel Blue" colorway. The results are awesome, but I have been told I have very poor taste. I have a Chris King Cielo Base Racer in the Chartreuse color, with Navy Chris King Hubs and Headset, so my shoes are the opposite color scheme of my bike. I think they look pretty neat. The lace length guide that Brock linked to is on point and will get you the lace lengths you need.

You know, every once in a while, you just gotta change things up a bit. Don't get stuck in a rut with boring laces, add some pop, yeah, I said it. POP! Once laced up, other Empire wear'ers will oogle you non-stop. Don't say I didn't warn ya! Size wise, I actually sized down a size (from the recommended), and you know what, they fit flippin' perfect!

    Necessary replacement

    Familiarity:

New laces aren't the most exciting upgrade, but it makes a big difference not having fraying, ripped ends. These are as solid as I hoped they'd be.

Love all the color options! My only issue with these laces is that they're super stretchy. When tightened down, the 50-inch length ends up being really long with a size 41.5 shoe and narrow feet. I just tuck the excess laces back under, which works, but it'd be nice not to have to do that. Keeping my fingers crossed for a shorter length option.
