GiroDime MIPS Helmet - Kids'
Item # GIR00AF
Dime MIPS Helmet
They may be smaller, but young riders still need the same safety features from a helmet that their parents are getting. Closely resembling the adult Quarter MIPS helmet, Giro's Dime MIPS Helmet makes sure young riders look the part while staying safe.
With an ABS plastic outer layer for surrounding an inner EPS foam layer, the Dime is no lighter on the protection than the Quarter. Like it's adult counterpart, it also includes polyurethane reinforcement on the EVA foam, as well as removable Fit Kit foam pads. It's now available with added MIPS technology in the form of a thin inner layer that rotates in the event of impact to minimize damage from rotational forces. Eight vents keep kids cool, with two size options for getting the right fit.
- Tyke-sized helmet for neighborhood and trail sessions
- Impact-absorbing materials work towards ride safety
- Deep coverage at the rear for additional protection
- Venting keeps air moving overhead on warm rides
- Giro makes the gear that gets you there
- Ages 1 and older

Kids love it, so they wear it

Hasn't been put to good use yet, but looks burly and well-constructed enough to protect the little dude's head when needed.

My daughter is almost 2 years old. We got her a Strider bike for Christmas and I knew it was important to teach her young to always wear a helmet. I decided on this one since it was very affordable with MIPS technology. Giro is also a great quality brand. I got size XS and the helmet is a little big on her, but I know right now it's not going to take any big hits, it's more just to get her into wearing the helmet. I think this will fit her for 1-2 more years. I can still adjust the fit with padding inside as well. She absolutely loves this helmet and asks to wear it just playing around the house. I know as she gets more adventurous on her Stryder that this helmet will be able to take the beatings.
