Why We Like The Giro Chamber II Cycling Shoe
Building off the successful design of the original Chamber used by professional enduro and downhill racers, the Giro Chamber II Cycling Shoe provides a stable pedaling platform with plentiful grip that comes in handy when we're placing a foot down over sketchy terrain. It takes the form of a skate shoe, but it's reinforced with a Vibram sole and rubberized heel and toe overlays. Traditional laces sit alongside an ankle strap that stabilizes these shoes when you're pedaling swiftly down the trail and hitting the jump line in the bike park.

Not what they once were!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is my second pair of these shoes. The first (pictured on right) are from 2019 and have countless days on them with now the 3rd set of cleats. They are still going strong, just a little small with thicker socks. The “new” pair (pictured on the left) have less than 300 miles of riding and less the 5 miles of walking on them as they were just worn for a trip from Durango to Moab. Already the sole is delaminating on the medial aspects throughout the area of the cleat recess. There is other evidence of inferior rubber used in the sole based additional cracking and deterioration on both shoes. Very disappointing! Especially given that the shoe really has no other shortcomings. It fits well, breathes well, and stays secure with the velcro stamp. As with everything post pandemic, quality control could use a little help at Giro nowadays.

Sorry to say a terrible shoe

I want to start saying buying shoes online is always a gamble. But this shoe combines a stiff sole and a sloppy upper that has the foot trying to find some level of comfort somewhere in the shoe. It is a combination to terrible feature with the added annoyance of a large toe area that you can't get snug, laces that are too long, a stiff and uncomfortable strap and mushy upper. It tries to be everything and succeeds in doing everything horribly. I don't think this shoe would work for anyone that has ever had a good cycling shoe on their feet. Given the brand I trusted the pedigree but this is a strong do not buy.

Super poor lace design
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Laces started fraying immediately. Returned, and backcountry never refunded. So steer well clear of these, and perhaps backcountry and competitive cyclist. :(

Great shoe
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
They fit my super wide feet and are comfortable and stiff enough for an all day pedal.

Super comfortable
Knew it as soon as I slipped the first one on that they were the winner of the three shoes I had ordered. Gwin Blk/Wh size 44. Super comfortable. Well made. True to size. Stylin'. My wife even liked the look of them! I would buy another pair today if they had my size in another color.
