Winter warmth.

Sure, there are days that are too cold to ride, but if you have the Giro 100 Proof Gloves, you can count those too-cold days on one hand, because these waterproof, breathable, and highly insulated lobster mitts will keep you protected when you really need it.

With the extra-warm split-finger design, the 100 Proof's intent is crystal clear: to keep you riding when temperatures drop well below freezing. Its 100g Thinsulate XT-S insulation provides ample warmth without excess bulk, and the X-Static AGrid antimicrobial fleece lining helps you stay toasty while it fights off unpleasant odors. To keep the insulation working even when conditions are wet, the 100 Proof features a Hipora waterproof and breathable membrane to keep out water and wind, and a synthetic Clarino palm that keeps you dry and provides lightweight abrasion resistance and palm padding.

The 100 Proof gloves don't stop there. They have an extended merino wool cuff that keeps out drafts and stays warm even if it gets wet, and plenty of reflective detailing to help you stay visible when you're on the road. Giro also designed the glove with Touchscreen Technology, so you can check your ride stats without having to de-glove and risk freezing your fingers.

Warm insulated lobster glove

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I want to love these but the fingers have different compartments within the lobster claw. That small amount of fabric makes my fingers colder than if they were together. I've ridden 20-30 minutes to work in 20-40 degree weather and am mostly warm.

Dr. Zoidberg Approves!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XXL

I haven't really gotten to use these yet as I bought them at the start of spring intending to use them next winter, however looking at the build and quality of them I could've done worse for what I paid. I wasn't impressed with my other Giro gloves - I was impressed with these.

Size of all Giro gloves is small to me (thumbs are kind of short IMO), I've just started buying XXL in all cycling gloves, but according to the chart I am XL. YMMV.

Their Name Says It All

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

If you're heading out in sub 30F with wind chills into the upper teens / lower 20's, look no further - I only wish I could find something similar for an overshoe. These mitts are truly something special. There's a sacrifice of dexterity, but you'll have full mobility of your digits when you stop to open food. They come with liners, at least the previous model did, which comes in handy to help regulate temp. My fingers are very sensitive to the cold from years of abuse during my youth in Michigan. During really long rides I wrap my thumbs with a plastic bag to cover the tips since they don't have an a joining finger to help keep them warm.
100% Bomb Proof!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these gloves for cycling in the 30s and below. The gloves come with an insulated shell and a pair of standard liners. The combo of the two is an incredibly warm set of gloves. I have used these gloves into the teens and my hands stay warm. The dexterity is not of 5 fingered gloves but this should be expected that 3 finger gloves are not going to have the same dexterity. I am able to shift and brake whenever needed. These gloves are the best cold weather cycling glove I have ever used. If you cycle in the cold and want to keep your hands warm then these are the gloves for you.
