Sleeveless Baselayer

This Giordana Sleeveless Base Layer is ideal underneath your jersey for a variety of situations. Summer riding in the mountains? Brisk mornings? Trans-seasonal days with changing weather conditions? Check all the above. The sleeveless base layer is the perfect foundation to build your modular clothing system for the day.

Its Dri-Release fabric wicks moisture like crazy to keep you from being sweaty and potentially chilled on the descents or in the cool air of the morning. It drys out four times faster than cotton, yet it has a cotton-like softness -- something we appreciate against the skin. Giordana treats their base layers with Freshguard to keep them from getting too stinky. Another plus of the Giordana Sleeveless Base Layer is that they are quite forgiving in the wash and won't pill or shrink unless you do something terribly wrong. It's available in four sizes from Small to X-Large.

  • Drirelease base layers are ideal under your cold and warm weather wear
  • Microblend performance fabric removes perspiration fast
  • Dries four times faster than cotton
  • It’s soft to the touch, won’t shrink or lose shape and resists pilling
  • Treated with Freshguard to help neutralize odor

Giordana Sleeveless Baselayer

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I have 2 of these in a large and they are a nice snug fit for my 42” chest- the XL too loose in the body. I wish they were a little longer but I’m really tall and they stay tucked into my padded shorts just fine. They breath and wick very well. Probably a little too warm for vigorous work outs above 70F.
I like the baselayer. I really do, but the bottom hem is fraying in 2 spots on the front of one of my shirts after using for maybe a month. I use a delicates bag and run a cycle on delicates as well and hang to dry. Maybe it caught on something or stretched and popped the stitching, but the point being this is very fragile garment and you have to really, really baby it. We’ll see how the other shirt holds up, but I kind of wish I spent double for the Craft which I hear is also longer in the body.

Fine, but I prefer the Garneau

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

Super-useful in all weather but I prefer Garneau's 1001 Singlet, which I've used a ton. The bottom third of this is loose, a little baggy, where the Garneau is clingy, a better fit under bibs. This one's material is just slightly thicker; the Garneau's mesh feels slightly better in the heat, but not a big diff there.

Love it. Great fit, well tapered; maybe an inch too long - but the extra tall folks would need it.
Amazingly it's made in the USA
I plan to pick up a few more at this price.

A bit large.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Good product. Does what it's supposed to do. I'm a 40 chest but the large was a bit too large. I ride it anytime below 70F.

Does the job

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

On a regular, San Francisco gets quite breezy after 4pm. I ride for 60 minutes at 6pm and this base layer does the job.

It won't keep you toasty, but it will add just enough warmth to before it gets real cold.

The material almost feels like the type of bandage or dressing one wraps around an injury. It doesn't exactly feel great to the touch, but it's ok.

I wouldn't recommend this for casual afternoon rides as it would be a bit warm.

Good Base Layer

This is a really good base layer for the price. Giordana is consistent with sizing and quality and this is a great value for basic base layer. I prefer to wear this in temperatures 40-65 degrees, but find it's a little too hot above those temperatures.

    What a lovely product

I concur with the other positive reviews on this site regarding this base layer. The fit is just as described - I went with a large and I have a 40 inch chest - and it fits close to my body, but not like a sausage casing. For the price, this base layer performs quite well. I would not wear it on a day over 70 degrees, but anything at or below that temp and this is perfect. Yes, you have to treat it with care, but no different than your cycling jerseys. The item holds up well in the wash and I expect to use this for years to come.

    Please don't buy this

I received this in the mail and tried it on, but then bottom hem of the shirt ripped. The seams and stitching on this thing is not very secure and you have to treat this thing like fragile glass just to put on/take off this thing without it ripping up on you, you can't stretch this thing very much when wearing it. The fit was fine and the material, I would assume, is good at wicking sweat. It's just that I would recommend something more durable.

      Worth its weight in GOLD!

Next to skin provides light protection from chafing and keeps skin insulated. Dries wicked fast. #goatworthy for sure!

      Great fit, does it job.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm 5'8", 161lbs, 39" chest, 32" waist. I went with the medium and the fit is spot on; not constrictive nor loose, just snug as a cycling undershirt should be. Dripping moisture was not an issue and I felt comfortable on my early morning humid-laden ride. For the price it?s a good deal as higher end garments that do the same job cost much more. Delicate material, don't suggest putting in dryer or washing in rough cycles.

      Base layer...

Great fit and very comfortable. I got a medium (5'8" 155). Keeps me dry helping with those early morning rides in Idaho.
