The Intersection of Comfort and Value.

Good bibs can make or break a ride, no doubt about it. We refuse to bargain shop on shorts if it means a sacrifice on materials or fit. Every once and a while a pair of bibs come along that exceeds our expectations. Giordana's SilverLine Bib Short are a great example and prove that you can find comfort and value in a pair of bibs that simply perform well and look great.

Giordana constructs the SilverLine out of a textured silky woven fabric which wraps around the leg with two panels. This helps supports the quads and the glutes separately and provides compression to reduce muscle fatigue and wicks moisture away from your skin. The core system stabilizes the short while accommodating the waist and hips for a comfortable fit that stays in place. This results in a fit that's comfortable and unrestrictive, yet perfectly supportive with just the right amount of compression. A plush Cirro chamois is highly breathable and provides plenty of cushioning adding comfort for your day in the saddle.

Soft wide elastic-microfiber bib straps constructed from LoPro 0 are seamless, super comfortable, and disappear under the jersey. At the center of the bib uppers are the 190 Mesh fabric to move moisture keeping you cool and dry. Holding the legs securely in place throughout your perfect spin is the supportive 4.5cm elastic leg cuffs. The short's reflective rear striping at the back of both legs amplify your blinky and car headlights ensuring safety at dawn and dusk.

  • Bib shorts offering comfort without breaking the bank
  • Streamlined fit appropriate for training rides
  • Lightweight synthetic fabrics wick moisture and offer compression
  • Seamless bib straps and mesh bib breathe and support
  • Soft, moisture-wicking chamois gives in-saddle comfort

Great shorts for great price

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: large

Use them routinely for 2 hr road rides. Fit well and very comfortable.

Great fit - get the job done.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: M

These definitely get the job done. They are not my go-to shorts but fit snug where they need to, and provide good enough padding for decent rides. Overall pleased with how they have held up!

Was looking for superior padding

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

The fit was excellent, straps were just about unnoticeable but I couldn't notice superior comfort after a 2 hour ride than my 60 dollar shorts. Maybe I just need to adjust since I'm new to the sport, but athletic. Thanks to Renzo B with spot on advice with size.

I really wanted to love these bibs

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I used to wear nothing but Giordana. But these bibs are very uncomfortable. The straps have sharp edges that cut your skin and the waistline is way too low with a straight cut rather than a scooped shaped. The edges of the waistline are also sharp and rough.

Excellent Everyday Bibs

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Giordana makes a number of excellent bib shorts. The NX-G push the limits of fabric technology, the Lungo excel for long distances, and the FR-C are made for Race Day. But for weekday rides and training, the Silverline Bibs are everything a dedicated rider could want. They are made in Italy in Giordana's own factory. Materials, construction, and fit are excellent. It is nice to have a few kits in rotation, but they do not all need to be $300. These are a great pair for the quiver!

Easy on the bum!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

The Giordana Silver line were extremely comfortable on century ride. Fit perfectly around my thighs... No rubbing in any of the critical area's. Stayed as cool as possible..

Relatively Affordable Comfort

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I found these bibs quite comfortable. The pad is sufficient and supportive while lacking some of the fancy antibacterial features and designs of Giordana's top tier pad. My first ride included 9 miles of in the saddle climbing where I didn't even notice the bib.

I was quite happy with the fit - the straps are long enough for taller riders unlike other brands. at 6'1", 175 lbs I went with size large which is perfect. I normally wear a medium in more "American" fit brands. The inseam is relatively long so keep that in mind if you have shorter legs but it's perfect for taller riders. The short itself has enough compression without being overbearing and the leg gripper was unobtrusive while keeping things in place. One note - these shorts don't come up higher like some in the stomach which makes them easy for nature breaks but not as supportive.

These bibs are the best bibs I have worn at this price point. I was very impressed with the fit and styling. Especially if you like a longer inseam or are a taller rider. The chamois is extremely comfortable and the best one less than $200. The material is not the most comfortable, but acceptable and gets better as you wash them. One of the best things about these bibs is how durable they are. Durability can be an issue with cycling clothes and these are going to last forever. I have worn them about 4 times and on a couple 4+ hour rides. The straps are a bit wider and feel really nice over the shoulders, they don't cut in like some brands. I really enjoy these bibs and know you will as well.

favorite bibs under $200

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

The Silverine bib shorts have been around a while, and for a good reason. They are awesome! The Cirro chamois pad is a dense material that works great on longer rides. My favorite part of these bibs are the straps. The straps have a lot of stretch to them. They hold everything in place well but they do not tug on my shoulders like other bibs with firmer straps. The straps are also wide and soft, really comfortable bibs overall.

I am 5'11 185 lbs with 44in chest and size XL fits me well. Giordana clothing runs a bit small.

Bib Goodness

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I am pretty stoked on these bibs. I currently own and rotate through bibs priced between $100 and $300. I feel like $150 to $200 is the bang for the buck range. Make no mistake, I LOVE my top of the line shorts. The materials, weight, compression, chamois, and breathability of a super high-end pair of shorts is simply amazing. But there is a lot to be said for the Silverlines that pack similar features into a much less expensive price point. I don't completely agree with a reviewer below, the straps are not my favorite, however, I have used worse at higher price points and these straps really don't bother me but I figured I would mention it.
The Chamois is excellent and while my longest ride in them has only been 4 hours, I can say they will handle a 5 or 6 hour day without issue. I typically wear an XL in Castelli and snagged these in an XL and found the fit to be similar, perhaps a little less snug but the right size for me. Inseam length seems to be on par with most of my shorts as well. I would for sure recommend these to a friend or family member looking for a solid pair of shorts. If you are looking to spend $120 on a pair of shorts, I can say that the extra $40 you would spend on these are well worth it.

Incredible Fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

These are by far some of the best fitting bibs I've ever owned. Once on, they contour nicely and stay in place, meaning they wont bunch up or slide up your legs. The fabric used is extremely breathable and soft on the skin. Would definitely recommend, especially for the price-point.

After several uses and a bike crash, I can confidently say these are some of the best/most durable bibs I've worn. They've held up extremely well through 4-5 wash cycles and have come out unscathed after a road crash, which destroyed my jersey. This may be the best fabric used on a bib short.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you are looking for a good, do it all bib, look no further. These are the ultimate do it all bib. Race a crit, climb a mountain, journey 120 miles, you will be covered regardless of the ride. Super comfortable fit, great chamois, and nice stretch on the bib straps. The fit is slightly snug, but not as bad as some other Italian brands I have tried. I am 5'10" with a 34 waist, and an XL fits me great. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions -

Really really hard to beat for the price

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: medium

The Silverline collection performs way in excess of it's price point. $160 shorts should not feel this premium. I've been on 8 or 9 rides in these, and I can't get over how much I like them. The only real criticism I have is the cut. I personally prefer a higher cut, but it doesn't have any bearing on my comfort. The compression is definitely there, but not nearly as much as something from the FRc or NXg lines. I've been very happy with the straps as well, and even though the Cirro chamois isn't my absolute favorite, I'm very happy with it. The bottom line for me, is that I'd be happy if I paid $200 for these bibs. Please get in touch with me at if you have any questions about sizing!

Bib straps ruin good chamois

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

I have a love / hate relationship with these shorts. On the plus side the chamois is fantastic and they have the right amount of compression. On the horrible side are the bib straps. If you look closely, the edges are not covered and let me tell you they are very sharp. Every other bib short I own has some short of softer material on the edges of the straps to keep them from chafing. Nearly ripped my nips off on the first ride, then tried with band aids and that was not comfortable or effective.

I ended up cutting off the straps just to avoid throwing these in the trash. Without the straps they are quite good shorts.

I wear an XL in Louis Garneau and Pearl Izumi, these feel true to size.

If you need a bib that will be with you day in and day out, then I suggest you grab a pair of the Silverline bibs. No frills save for a solid chamois that will not bunch up on you, laser-cut straps that lay flat against your skin and a slight compression that will keep your legs fresh.

The inseam runs long (as it should), so don't freak out if the legs feel a little loose standing straight up. Be sure to get into the riding position to ensure a proper fit check. I wear a medium in most brands and these fit well for my lean build. Do yourself a favor and buy a pair now.

After putting these bibs through quite a few more miles and a couple of washes I can safely say these bibs will be the daily rider I need them to be. I continue to be impressed by the quality and comfort of the chamois - no bunching, soreness, or general discomfort. I'll be reaching for these for every ride (unless I decide to do something silly like racing again).

Absolutely KILLER for the price

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I approached the SilverLine series with a little bit of reservation. The price point was just too low for it to be really good. 5 or 6 rides on, I'm fully prepared to say that these are the best value bibs on the market. Fit, feel, materials, and construction wouldn't feel out of place on bibs that cost $100 more. Sizing is standard for Girodana. I wear large bibs and a medium jersey in Castelli, medium bibs and jersey in Assos, and typically, a small jersey and medium bibs in Giordana.

Nice and Inexpensive

These are great inexpensive bibs for those rides up to 2.5hrs. A great everyday bib. For anything longer, I would recommend going with the NXG or FRC Pro bibs. Just for a better chamois for a more comfortable ride.

After several rides in these, I have been quite happy with them. I really like the compression. It isn't something I would wear for back to back long rides, but I could wear them every day for rides shorter than 2.5hrs.

    From startline to finishline, Silverline

This is quickly becoming my go-to training bib. A workhorse of a bib short, Giordana’s Silverline bibshort is everything its heritage suggests, at a more palatable price point than some of the brand’s higher-end offerings.
Compared to other Giordana bibshorts, the Silverline has a more forgiving fit while keeping the cycling enthusiast’s silhouette. The fit allows the technical materials to do their job.
And speaking of technical materials, I have noticed that these shorts (and specifically the chamois) dry much more quickly than other bibs I use. I put them in the handwash cycle with some Assos Active Wear Cleanser and then let them hang on my shower rod. If I wash them in the morning, they are ready to roll in the late afternoon.
As of my second ride with these, I am impressed with the chamois. Yes, Giordana makes a superior chamois, but I don’t think anyone else makes a better chamois is the Silverline’s price point. I will follow up when I have a few more rides under my bib straps.

    Lives up to the namesake.

If you've worn or known Giordana product over the years, you may have had the same impression as I did, in that the Silverline collection was the "2nd tier" line below FRC. More relaxed cut, less refined fabrics, lower chamois, etc were the differences between the two. While some of those differences still exist, both lines have evolved and improved. The biggest difference is the chamois, where Giordana now uses two chamois in their whole mens collection, the Cirro S and the Cirro. The Silver line gets the Cirro, which is infused with aloe vera like the Cirro S, but uses a 3 layer construction, and lacks the more anatomic fitting forward extension of the Cirro S. Despite that, the Cirro has been plenty comfortable over my inital 2 rides, and still has a similar anatomic fit up front like my "go to" bibs, the Assos Equipe Evo. The inseam length is longer than my Assos, extending down to fully cover my quads and rest 2-3 inches above my knee.

I'm 5'8", and at 145 pounds opted for the medium bibs despite having owned small Giordana Lazer bibs in the past. The fit is great, and everything stays in place. I imagine the smalls would have worked as well, but the stretch would have been more at 80-90% whereas the mediums are probably stretched to 50%.

Materials are top notch, and have an excellent hand. Higher level bibs from Giordana may have a more compressive fabric, or more breathable fabric. I've used these on the trainer for an hour, and an evening ride, and haven't had any issues with sweat buildup or moisture management.

Two rides in, I've been impressed with the Silverline bibs, and would reach for them without hesitation.

    Lives up to the namesake.

After extended use, these bibs have only left me more impressed. The Chamois is for real, and I've had numbness free rides on every occasion. My favorite features are the longer inseam, and the leg grippers (photo in upper review). It's a woven silicone rather than the added dots of some other bibs. This leaves a secure, comfortable fit that has yet to rise up. For a $160 bib, these have many of the features and comfort of bibs in the $200+ price range

Nice bib at a good price.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

My first impression of this bib short is a positive one. With Giordana carrying bib shorts more than twice the price of this bib, I expected there to be noticeable differences in quality but I found otherwise. The Cirro chamois is a really nice pad with two small differences from the Cirro S. You can see some ingrained stitching on the Cirro but when using it, you cannot feel them at all. The thickness of the chamois is a couple mm less thick, but still is plenty of padding for century+ rides. I am a heavy sweater and the chamois does a nice job wicking away sweat to the outside and away from the center.

The fit is definitely not as tight as the FRC's and NXG's. The Silverline's are still compressive around the knee but are more relaxed into the mid section. There is definitely room and flexibility if you are looking for something that will accommodate someone with a bigger midsection. The straps on the Silverline are really comfortable and do their job of helping the bib stay in place. At 5ft9 153, the bib fits about perfectly.

A small detail I really like is the leg grippers. They aren't those aggressive silicon grippers that come on other bibs that can cause irritation on longer rides. You don't notice they are there but do not slide up and down during the pedaling motion.

The bib is a quality piece and feels slightly thick, so I am curious to take them outside on a 90 degree day to see how breathable and comfortable they are. On first impression, I am impressed and happy with the bib short.

I now have been able to ride with these bibs in on the trainer, road, and mountain biking and am satisfied. Even for not being Giordana's top of the line bib short, they feel really comfortable and have held up just fine through a few washes. They are lightweight and breathe well when using as a liner underneath a mtb short shell and stay in place very well when changing positions. I will continue to use these for all kinds of rides and recommend getting a pair.
