Description

As the name implies, the Giordana Over/Under Liners can be worn on their own or under your padded gloves for added warmth in cold weather. The articulated fit employs slightly curved fingers to fight bunching and binding.

A soft terry thumb comes in handy when you really need to wipe your nose, and the silicone grippers on the palms lend dexterity when it's wet out. The integrated “thumb hoodie” aids in media usage whether you need to start your Strava or change your playlist.

  • Lightweight cycling glove functions well on its own or as a liner
  • Highly insulating when used in combination with a sturdy winter glove
  • Silicone gripper on the palm enhances handlebar feel
  • Integrated “thumb hoodie” allows for touchscreen usage
  • Synthetic construction is breathable when used as a primary glove

    Perfect liner

    Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
    Fit:
    Runs large

Normal glove size: M Size Bought: M Fit: Fingers were long Initial impressions: To give an idea of my hand type, I have a medium sized hand with larger palms and shorter fingers. The medium size on this fit my palms perfectly but was a little long in the fingers . My friend who has a larger hand fit the fingers perfectly, but said the palm was a little too small. So that being said, if you have longer fingers and a smaller palm on most gloves, this glove would be a great fit for you. Despite the fingers being a little long, I bunched them up a bit and they worked just fine for me. I normally run very hot on my rides and frequently have found my hands sweating on 45 degree rides where I wasn’t wearing gloves. So the idea of getting a glove liner seemed like a good move . When I first got them, I felt like the gloves were very high quality. So much so that I would be fine using them for running, skiing or cycling. The grips on the palms and fingers were well positioned and low enough profile so that I could get a good grip on my bars without being irritated by the rubber grips at all. I really loved the thumb hood as I seem to always have problems with gloves working on my phone at stops during rides. The thumb hood solved that problem. The glove is really not thick at all. If you’re looking for a glove to keep your hands warm, this is not the glove for you. However if you’re looking for a pair of gloves to wear in the case of an emergency or just to take some of the edge off of the cold, then I’d definitely recommend this one. I’d say the glove helped raise the temperature of my hands between 5-10 degrees at any given time from not having gloves at all. They were tight enough that I could wear them with another glove on top, which worked really well to add just a little bit more warmth without the over glove losing a lot of dexterity in the process. Overall: this glove did exactly what it was made to do. Giordana does a great job of creating items that allow you to ride in any type of weather incrementally. This glove fits right into that lineup for them. If the glove had a shorter finger option in addition to the normal sizing, I would call it the perfect glove for me. Just like you wear a baselayer or thermal layer under your fall jackets, this glove is made to give you a little more versatility in the range you can ride without being uncomfortable.

I haven’t had any of the issues other reviewers experienced. I’ve used them as a liner for other gloves while cycling, worn them on cold walks, put them in the wash several times, and they’ve held up fine. Even when used as a liner my hands still get a little cold on chillier rides, but I probably need a better outer glove to block the wind or just switch to merino wool liners as my hands and feet run cold. These work well for spring and fall though.

    Poor quality

I love the idea: a liner to keep my fingers warm until it warms up enough to remove and wear my fingerless gloves. The quality seemed good until I wore them the second time and noticed the outside seems on both gloves were coming apart. I am returning for a refund and looking for a replacement of better quality.

    Maybe a bad run?

    Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

All my other Giordana gear has held up exceptionally well....except for these liners. Stitching fell apart on 3rd ride. Maybe a bad run as other gloves from Giordana have worked really well for me. Bummer!

    Bad Stitches.

    Fit:
    True to size

This is my second Giordana Gloves I have owned. In both cases within a week, the stitches broke and I had to stitch it back myself and add reinforcement. Looks stylish etc but real bad stitching.

Same issue here...except mine were un-stitched right out of the bag. Good looking and fitting glove though...

    Layer Up

I get cold, and not riding is not an option. So, these provide a great option for the cold, extending the temp abilities of other gloves. They are long, easily covering your wrists.
