Description

NX-G Bib Shorts with Cirro-S Insert

Your legs give it their all on rides so why not pay it forward and give them a little extra love with some new bibs. We've found that Giordana's NX-G Bib Shorts with Cirro-S Insert fit the bill quite nicely and with its new construction techniques, it sets the standard on which you'll judge all of your cycling shorts.

Giordana's new 1on1 paneling system utilizes one-piece of fabric per leg. This adds progressive gradual compression around your legs targeting specific muscle groups adding support and reducing muscle fatigue. Giordana also worked hard to remove any unnecessary seams to help reduce irritation and the longer leg length is laser cut with a turned leg band for ultimate comfort. The core and back panels enhance support needed while in the saddle without compromising breathability that could lead to overheating.

Dual stretch and perforated bib straps keep the bibs close to your body but allow enough freedom of movement that your torso can move unrestricted. Lastly, the Cirro S chamois with Aloe Vera infusion will keep you comfortable without bulk whether you in for an hour of power at a criterium or headed out for an 8-hour multi-county jaunt.

  • Pro-level bib shorts built for all-day comfort
  • Form-fitting cut designed for a riding position
  • 1on1 main body supports muscles without restriction
  • Cirro S chamois provides plush support and breathability
  • Breathable core and back panels add stability to waist and lower back
  • Reflective stripes help you stay visible on dim days

Really weird dimensions.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Let me start by saying that I've got a very average torso length. It's not super long or lanky. On the opposite end, I have really long femurs for someone who is only 5'6", and they measure the same length as my partner who measures a solid 7 inches taller than me.
These fit so strangely I'm just bummed. On top the bib straps instantly cut into my shoulders, and within a couple of miles were really painful, while on bottom the raw edge hem fell all the way in the back of my knee, and began to scratch and cut into the skin after only 15 miles or so from pedaling. I'm super bummed, because the compressive fit felt great, and the chamois was comfortable and supportive.

I can't say any more about these but they certainly check every box and it certainly says a lot when you see this many of our experts sharing the positive feedback and using them as their "go to" bib short.

Trust us on this one, if you are looking for the mountain top in bib shorts, look no further. This is it.

If you need any assistance with sizing/fit or have any questions at all please feel free to reach out to me and I'd be more than happy to help you!

Guys, does anyone know how NX-G fits compared to Forma Red Carbon FRC? I am usually an XL in Castelli but I read that Giordana was a bit more generous. However, I tried on a pair of FRC in a large and could barely get them on. Decided to just make the jump to NX-G but want to make sure I get the right size. I am 5'11 and 178 pounds. Thanks. John

Best Bibs on the Market

I have had the privilege to try a lot of cycling kits. I work at Competitive Cyclist and try out new kits on a weekly basis it seems. Most of them are good. They have a nice chamois, great build quality and use top of the line materials and fabrics. I really like most of the kits I try.

About a month ago I received some NX-G bibs from Giordana and thought these are good. They felt nice, the chamois seemed good and the materials were fantastic. I expected all that. Then I put the bibs on jumped on the trainer. WOW! These bibs are great!

They do everything all other bibs do well, but exceed in so many other areas. The straps are ventilated and have great stretch, the gradual compression on the legs is a nice feature and the length of the bibs is a little longer to support your entire quad and hamstring and the chamois is simply amazing! The chamois is incredibly comfortable in the saddle and supports your sit bones and breathes nicely, but the relief in the front is a game changer! It just holds everything in place really nicely and allows for a little extra space. I don't feel like anything is getting crushed or chafed. No readjusting to get it right.

These bibs are my go to bibs and I always do the laundry before a long or intense ride just to make sure I can take these on my ride.

The most comfortable bib around

  • Fit: True to size

I am blown away at the design of these bibs...

The fit of these is amazing. They don't bunch up and they move with each leg in harmony. The chamois inside is so good I don't even think about it. Normally, I have to "adjust" a few times a ride. While I may not be able to fully comprehend all of the engineering behind these, the good thing is you don't have to in order to feel the effects. If I ever find a magic lamp and get three wishes from a genie, I know one of them will be to ask for this bib (and NX-G Air Jersey) for every ride of the week. 10/10 would recommend.

I wanted to wait and put these bibs through the paces before submitting a review. After numerous 3 hour plus rides, the NX-G bibs have become a go to in a drawer full of Assos bibs.

At 5'8", 145lbs, I wear a medium in the NX-Gs, the compression is just that, gradual, and fit doesn’t seem any different other non-compression bibs I have. The leg material is lighter than that of my Assos Equipe EVOs, and the upper is made of an almost mesh like fabric that breathes amazingly, but isn’t chill inducing on a morning descent. The Cirro S chamois has a smaller footprint than the Assos I’ve considered the industry standard, but equals it in comfort. The most important feature for me on bibs is a relieved front section to keep everything in place, rather than a flat front and seam, and the NX-G bibs check that box as well. I’d put these bibs up against any top level price point from any manufacturer, and bibs are one item where higher cost does equate to a better experience.

Barely There

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

When you reach this echelon of the cycling bib world, you expect a certain level of comfort and performance. A great bib should be the one you don't think about and that is exactly what I experience when riding in the NX-G. With only one seam per leg and minimal leg grippers, the fabric is more of a second skin that moves smoothly with each pedal stroke (I do wish I had sized down for a more compressive fit, but that is more a matter of personal preference).

The Cirro chamois is another standout - comfortable, breatheable and just the right amount of padding. No bunching or chamois cream necessary.

Take your bib selection to the next level.

Follow-Up Review: I've since had the chance to put in hundreds more miles in the months since I received my pair of bibs. The NXGs have continued to perform, holding up through a variety of rides and numerous washes. My favorite feature continues to be the next to skin feel with a touch of compression. Highly recommended purchase.

Favorite Bib Shorts

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Not only do these NX-G bibs look great, they feel and fit incredibly well. This is as close to bespoke as it gets. The material used throughout is paper thin and feels nice on the skin. The leg grippers and straps hold the bibs to the body without being obtrusive. The chamois rivals some of the best out there and offers superior comfort for the longest of rides. These are hands down the best bibs I've ever owned.

After riding with these bibs for several weeks now, I can confidently say they are the most comfortable bibs I've ever owned. They're worth every penny.

I highly recommend these bibs. They were everything I expected. I am 6'2" and 152lbs, so I went with the small bibs and they were a perfect fit. They are nice and cool on those hot summer days. The chamois can rival any other high end bib. The best part though is the compression, they fit so well. They stay in place and just feel good. If you are looking for a high end bib, then check these out. They are going to last and the quality is spectacular.

Beyond pumped on these bibs. I have used them several times now and the quality is spectacular. Very comfortable for the long road. gravel, or mtb rides. You won be disappointed. I am quite a fan.
