Giordana FormaRed Carbon Jersey - Long-Sleeve - Women's $69.98
Enhance your winter ride
Come winter, staying warm in the saddle becomes as much of a priority as hydration and nutrition. And despite Mother Nature's attempts, Grey skies and cold temperatures don't have to detour your training from the road to the rollers. Escape the humdrum of indoor training and enjoy the winter scenery in a Giordana FormaRed Carbon Women's Long Sleeve Jersey.
Using Giordana's Women's Contour Fit process, the jersey has been sewn to fit the contours of the female form in the riding position. Integral to this process is the material of the jersey itself. So, Giordana constructed FormaRed from the Dual Fit Strong fabric. This material is created with what Giordana calls Dual Weave technology -- a process that reduces the number of contact points between the jersey and your skin. This action generates a microcirulation of air for outstanding ventilation. An interpower treatment throughout the jersey also gives it enhanced moisture transfer capabilities. Also new to this year, the jersey features a taller collar to keep your exposure to the elements at a minimum, and accordingly, it eliminates the need for a neck gaiter.
For on-the-fly ventilation, Giordana included a full-length Camlock zipper that's been backed by an Aerofix zipper guard. The backing keeps cool air from sneaking in and robbing you of essential heat. And whether you're zipped or unzipped, loaded up or running light, the fit is secured in place by silicone gripper elastic on the rear hem.
With the addition of three rear cargo pockets, Giordana has provided ample storage for all of your ride essentials. A single zippered pocket on the rear will also hold your ID, credit card, or any other valuables that you can't afford to lose on the road. However, don't worry about MP3 devices, Giordana included a covered hidden pocket on the chest with an internal earphone routing from the pocket to the top of the collar. For added visibility in low-light conditions, reflective stripes flank the rear center pocket and wrist cuffs.
The Giordana FormaRed Carbon Women's Long Sleeve Jersey is available in the colors Purple/black/white, Black/black, and White/black. It also comes in five sizes from X-Small to X-Large.

- Fit: True to size
What happened to FR-C? This is going back. Not the FR-C quality I know. This is more like silverliine. Very disappointed. No flat lock seams or nice cuffs.
Also, this is personal preference, but the shiny purple and white looks like a Minnesota Vikings fangirl jacket.
I’m mad I have to pay return shipping for such a crappy piece.
Great base and outer layer
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I have a medium in this jersey; I am 5'4" and 125 lbs. I love it. It fits snugly without binding. It is a great all-around jersey for unpredictable spring weather. I have worn it under layers, during chilly rain, and it works to help keep my core comfortable and dry. It wicks sweat well, and also is great as a stand-alone jersey. one of my favorites.
More attention to detail, like no others!
Here again, you can see the tech. differences between the F.R.C. on the left, & the Silverline, on the right.
Side x Side Compare
The F.R.C. vs. the Silverline...just no comparison. Besides fit, look at the zipper detail. The F.R.C. has a fabric backing, and fine-toothed zipper to help block the wind/cold; while the Silverline's zipper has no fabric backing, and large, course zipper teeth which allow cold air to flow right through...and cold metal to touch skin; and this cold still radiates through base layers in winter.
And then, of course, is fit/looks!
Back Zip Pocket
Not quite large enough to accommodate my i_phone in the case, but fine for keys, C.C., and things of like size. All back pockets are perfectly proportioned, and relatively easy to access.
The inside of the zip pocket is a perforated material...so, if you want, you can just use this pocket as a 'vent', if things get too toasty!
Jersey is stretchy, yet holds it's shape.
Attention to Details
Love the 'weather-stripping' along the back of the zipper: keeps wind out, and freezing metal away from skin.
Nice collar height, and close, but not restrictive or choking.
fits a bit small
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs small
Very nice jersey, had all the specs I was looking for, but was too small for me across the shoulder and around the tummy. I ordered size S, I am 5'4", 125lbs. Returned.
Perfect Purple Passion
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: Runs small
I also just got this jersey...it is so comfortable! And so good to know, that something of this level of technology AND style/fit is available for most all body types! The sleeves are plenty long enough, good room for shoulders/and bust (if you're so blessed!), stretchy but not like a compression type garmet, unless you order close size-wise. The jersey is much more attractive in person: I got the purple, very nice shade; and the white accents have a kinda' pattern/texture giving it a more sporty feel (almost like a carbon fiber look). Can't wait to get the jacket in purple to complete the look and system. Have the FR Carbon jacket in black...it's is just wonderful! So go for it, what ever level you're at; good equipment/gear will help you succeed and enjoy cycling even more!
This jersey is perfect for temperatures in the the mid 40s-50s with a baselayer. If you're dipping into the low 40s, it still works great, but I've been wearing a vest over it. It's very flattering. I'm 5'-5", 115 lbs with a non-curvy runner's build and got an XS, which fits pretty tight, but doesn't seem to ride up. If you have larger hips, you might want to size up because it's definitely tight at the bottom. My only complaint is that the pockets in the back are really small. I could barely fit my gloves into one pocket.
