AV Full Insulated Tight no Chamois

During the colder months, it doesn't take long for cabin fever to set in, that’s why we appreciate Giordana's winter clothing and its water-resistant Acqua Zero Eco DWR treatment that helps get us out of the house during formidable conditions. This AV Full Insulated Bib Tight without a chamois is one article that we wear often and appreciate its versatility both on and off the bike. Featuring a robust Blizzard exterior with a water-resistant Acqua Zero Eco treatment and the addition of some windproof paneling on the front, this is the bib tight of choice when the cold and wet do their best to thwart you off your bike.

This tight consist of two materials, the main body fabric is Acqua Zero Eco Roubaix with its classic, brushed thermal material with an improved DWR treatment is more effective than the previous treatments used in the past. The thermal material is ready for winter cycling and is bolstered with overlaying panels of a windproof, breathable membrane on the tights' leading edges which include the thighs, knees, and upper shins.

The materials are assembled in a bicycle riding-friendly cut, and feel like a second skin when you're clipped in and reaching towards the bars. Even the bib straps feature the Super Roubaix-like material for heat retention yet remain breathable and offer a lightly compressive fit across the torso. Since they're built for extreme conditions, the increased core protection is a welcome addition.

The tight features an application of reflective Pixel material at the lower legs, which creates increased visibility in low-light and, hopefully, the attention of other road users in a key area of the tight.

  • Winter-grade bib tights for cold and wet adventures
  • The DWR-treated thermal material keep precipitation out
  • Windproof panels on leading edges cut the winter chill
  • Bib straps feature insulated materials for core warmth
  • Reflective accents help attract attention to increase safety
  • Giordana continues to redefine cycling clothing as we know it

Initial fit review - true to size chart

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

Just received these and was happily surprised that they fit true to size, unlike a few other Giordana and other Italian clothing makers. I'm 6'0", 33 inch waist, 40 inch chest and size L is appropriately tight but not restrictive. Also, these tights have a little more flexibility than other stiffer deep winter tights I've used in the past. Performance and reliability are TBD of course.
