Forerunner 945 HR
If you're looking to improve your athletic performance, nothing beats having quantifiable metrics to monitor and analyze your efforts both during and after your activity. Garmin's latest Forerunner 945 HR gives you and your coach the tools you need to have you performing at your best in a watch that's stylish enough to wear for every occasion. Add in the ability to sync music from streaming services or store up to 1,000 songs on your watch, and connect with headphones (sold separately) enabled with Bluetooth technology for phone-free listening and Garmin Pay allowing you to make convenient payments with your watch so you can leave your cash and cards at home and you have one of the smartest smartwatches on the market.
The new 945 gives you the ability to monitor multisports with ease, thanks to its built-in activity profiles for running (indoor/outdoor), cycling (indoor/outdoor), swimming (pool/open water), hiking, and others. It even has an auto multisport feature that lets you switch sports with a single button press for brick workouts and while transitioning during duathlon and triathlon races. Other features include barometric altimeter for tracking elevation changes, GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo sensors for tracking speed and distance, Garmin Elevate wrist-based heart rate, training status to determine if you're training productively, peaking, or overreaching, and lactate threshold and VO2 monitoring. Increased battery life allows you to train for longer between recharges, lasting up to 2 weeks in smartwatch mode, 10 hours in GPS mode with music, or up to 60 hours in UltraTrac mode.
Not only is it ideal for the tri sports of running, swimming, and cycling, but it also has features for cross-country skiing, paddle sports, trail runs, hikes, and golfing among others. To customize its use to your preferred outdoor activities, you can create tailored workouts with the Garmin Connect app (for both iPhone and Android). Great battery life but everything else sucks
Not intuitive and managing everything is cumbersome. I especially hate trying to figure out podcasts. So first I have to install Connect, then I have to install Connect IQ. Then I have to load Playrun. Then I can’t even manage Playrun on the app, I have to go to Playrun website on a browser to manage my podcasts which won’t even show me which podcasts I’ve already listened to (I have to guess which ones and add and remove to my playlist based on my faulty memory.) Then the playlist doesn’t even automatically load. I have to spend needless time on my Watch trying to figure out how to sync the podcasts which when I finally figure out it then takes way too long to sync. Could you have any more needless steps?!?!?!?!

Forerunner 945
I’m on my 3rd 945. The first one was replaced with a new one because of condensation getting under watch face and it died. 2nd one same issue. They now gave me a refurbished one and it doesn’t record all features and battery doesn’t last as long. Not to hopeful

Not very good customer support!
I bought a Forerunner 945 this week and I can't get it to connect to my Wi-fi network at home. It tells me I am entering the wrong password. I have not been able to get any type of help or solution from anyone @ Garmin. I will have to return the watch! =(

Great customer Service!
I got my Forerunner 945 about 2,5 years ago and was very happy with it. The charging cable sort of died on me and the watch seized to work, even with other cables. Garmin Customer Service was great, extended my warranty and sent me a new Forerunner 945. So happy!

Great if I could work it.
Over complicated nightmare . I want to press a button, go for a run and press breadcrumbs button if lost. I can’t work it out yet but early days. Tried to use suggestion routes but would not connect to satellite.

Was great watch until latest updates.
At the start I felt that going from a Pace2 to the Forerunner 945 was a great move, despite the cost. Recent software updates have, I think, spoiled things. Battery drains fast, watch loses connection/presence to/in my IOS 14plus phone. Required me to "Forget device", restart both warch and phone several times. We'll see if this has solved the 'drain', but how Garmin goes about when they introduce New devices and wrecks 'the old' is not impressing. This isnt the first dumpster move.

Improved features over FR 935
The 945 has improved features like training load focus and tips based on fitness and workouts to improve training status. It also has pulse-ox and enhanced sleep score and body battery. IMO it is better than the 955 because touchscreens don't respond to my touch at all, and who wants to carry around a stylus just to use the features on a smartwatch? The battery life is actually not as good as the 935, but it's very close.

Have to reset Garmin 945 too often
I've had a 945 for several years. This is my second one and I've had it about 3 years. I'm finding now that it disconnects from my Android phone on occasion for no reason. I didn't have to spend an hour getting it to wake up and resync
