The Racing Zero CMPTZN Disc Brake Wheelset combines the storied Racing Zero rims, with a disc brake compatible hub, and the highest quality CULT ceramic bearings, making them the very top of Fulcrum’s disc wheel range. With a 19mm internal width and two-way fit to mount clincher or tubeless tires, these wheels are a versatile and lightweight upgrade to your racing steed. The combination of ultra smooth ceramic bearings, balanced and uniform carbon construction, and the 2:1 spoke lacing create a stiff wheelset that still delivers a ride quality to keep us rolling for all-day races. Our power means more when transferred to the stiff and responsive rims, while the bearings’ smoothness ensure we can go further with less effort.

Starting with the rim, the high-strength 6082 aluminum is triple-milled to eliminate unnecessary weight while maintaining optimal stiffness and reliability for smooth rotation. The Italian-made rims use Fulcrum’s ingenious MoMag spoke mounting system: magnets pull the spoke nipple to the desired location, rather than needing a drilled hole in the upper bridge. No holes makes the rim entirely uniform for greater strength, fewer weak points, and eliminates the need for rim tape when set up with clincher tires. Fulcrum furthers the smooth rotation of the Racing Zero with their Dynamic Balance System, which balances the weight of the valve stem with the same weight directly across the rim. A balanced wheel rolls more smoothly and is better able to continue rolling without additional pedaling, saving you energy during the longest races.

Fulcrum crafts the front hub from carbon with an aluminum flange. With the carbon keeping overall weight down, the aluminum outer enhances the overall durability of the hub. It’s what inside that truly sets the hubs apart: CULT bearings. CULT uses highly corrosion-resistant steel races and the smoothest ceramic ball bearings in a cup-and-cone construction to increase the smoothness of the wheel’s rotation by up to 9 times relative to standard bearings. Smoother rotation means less effort to travel further, saving your energy for the final sprint. The rear hub’s plasma-treated aluminum allows Fulcrum to reduce the thickness, and thereby weight, of the metal while maintaining the durability and reliability of this crucial component.

Fulcrum uses straight-pull aero-bladed spokes to compliment the weight savings and superior stiffness of the Racing Zero rims. The Two to One lacing pattern differs in the front and rear to optimize stiffness and power transfer. In the front, the two spokes fall on the non-drive side, to balance the torque from the brake rotor. On the rear, the two spokes stiffen the drive-side to better balance and compensate the forces on that side.
