Fit is different than last years version

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

I own (and love) last year's version of the Switchback and I was excited to see new colors on this years design, so I ordered me a full kit again. Unfortunately they changed the fit on the bibs and this version misses the mark. The seam above the band on the thigh is extremely tight to the point of being restrictive. It was so uncomfortable I couldn't even squat in them without the seam digging in and hurting. Not exactly what you want when you are shredding your favorite trail. The rest of the bib fit true to size and would have been perfect except for that design flaw. If I had sized up the bib would have been too big and baggy everywhere else, so I had to return them which is a shame because the navy/yellow color was amazing.

Ride 1 and feeling good

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was very hesitant after ripping the tags off before trying on, because they felt a little big, BUT took them out for a 19 mile ride today and they were totally comfortable. they move once where I had to adjust, and that is not unlike any other shorts I have.Overall I think the cut could be a bit better, BUT at the end of the day the chamois pad was great and I can't wait for more rides

Breathable, but fit could use some work

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I prefer a nice bib short to wear under my baggies instead of the liner that frequently comes with baggies. I gave these a try as they are super breathable and will be perfect for the hot summer afternoons in Park City. Chamois is very comfortable and seems like it will last a long time. I am not crazy about the fit though. I ordered a small to align with my other MTB pieces and found the seam above the band on the thigh to be very tight. The rest of the bib is slightly baggy and sizing up to a medium would be much too big everywhere else. As a rider with strong thighs, this was a bit disappointing. If the cut was better, they would definitely get 5 stars. I am interested to see if there is much give in that seam after a few rides, but for the moment these will just be short ride bibs.
