Lower Leg Removal Tool

When the time comes to service your Fox suspension fork, removing the fork lowers can be a hassle. Loosening the bolts for the air spring and damper assemblies is pretty straightforward, but tapping on them to release the lowers often doesn't go as planned. Sometimes it requires a bit of extra force, which increases the risk of damaging your fork. Fortunately, Fox makes a tool designed specifically for the job.

The Fox Lower Leg Removal Tool slides over the retaining bolts for the air spring and damper assemblies, providing a smooth surface to tap on in order to more easily release the lowers. This helps prevent critical damage that could render your fork useless. The 32mm tool fits the air spring side of Fox 32, 34, 36, and 40-series forks. It also works on the damper side of Fox 32 forks. The 34/36/40mm tool fits the damper side of Fox 34, 36, and 40-series forks. This means that you need both tools if you have a Fox 34, 36, or 40-series fork, as the air spring and damper have different bolt diameters.

Specialty Tools, not for everyone

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This tool does the job it is intended to do very well. Yes, I do think it is overpriced for a metal rod with threads in it, but I could not bring myself to hammer another one of those aluminum nuts with the socket. I was reluctant to buy it, but now I am happy I have it. Between me and my friends, I maybe rebuild between 6-10 shocks a season. Do I felt it was worth finally getting them.
