FOX Racing ShoxFloat Volume Spacer
Item # FRS006D
Float Volume Spacer
Before you pack up the car and head to Moab, firm up your ride in anticipation of the big hits and steep drops you're about to rally all over with the FOX Racing Shox Float Volume Spacer. This innocuous plastic bit proves that good things come in small packages. By taking up space in your fork, a spacer steepens the compression curve at the end of the stroke to eliminate squishy dives when you're heading into chunky terrain. Depending on the amount of spacers you use, you'll establish a harsher, more responsive ride heading into berms and smooth spots that you can reverse when you get home if needed.
- Firm up your ramp up in rough terrain with this spacer
- Spacer takes up space inside your fork to reduce squish
- Compatible with FOX Racing Shox forks only

Poor tolerance/QA?
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Work great once installed but mine were maybe a few thou's over spec because they were a little tough to get in, and I pushed a little and they popped in and now they're never coming out. Fortunately I love the feel but I'm going to have to completely disassemble the for and buy a new topcap when I get the next service done to get them out.

I started playing with these volume reducers a couple of years ago and found that they work well for me. I like a supple fork for small bump but want the fork to ramp up when dropping rocks ledges. The number and size of the tokens is personal preference but they are cheap so grab a few and find your sweet spot.

Tune Your Fork!

I have a 36 and a 34 on two different bikes, they are great, well built forks but I felt like they were a little bit too soft through the last 35% of the travel. I like to run a little extra sag for better small bump performance, but hate it when my fork dives too much during heavy braking, in corners, or bottoms too easily. Volume Spacers are my jam. To combat the diving my lower pressure causes, I typically run an extra volume spacer. This will cause my forks spring curve to ramp up more through the latter part of its stroke, allowing me to run a slightly lower pressure and keep my small bump performance. This is a far better solution than misusing compression dampening to try to combat bottoming and dive, but results in a fork that rides stiffer than I prefer through the entirety of its travel.
