FOX Racing ShoxDust Wiper Kit

Dust Wiper Kit
Fox partnered with legendary seal maker SKF to develop their low-friction fork seals. This Fox Dust Wiper Kit is standard equipment on current Fox Forks, and these seals are what give them such a buttery smooth feel along with the Kashima Coat.
Forks are one of those things that get taken for granted when they're working as they should, and cursed when they're not. Most of the time it's our own fault for not doing the little things like changing the oil. The dust wipers are equally as important as they're the first line of defense from the grit and grime of the trail. Needless to say, it's a good idea to replace them when you do your oil. The Fox Dust Wiper Kit is available to fit all Fox Forks. Choose the set that corresponds with your fork stanchion diameter -- 32, 34, 36, or 40mm.
- Designed with SKF
- Kit contains dust seals, lower seals, and crush washer

Pay now, or pay later
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Suspension maintenance can be looked at as one of those necessary evils. Seems like twice a year to have a buttery smooth operating fork is just too much time and expense. Pay a little each year and have a great working fork for several years or ignore the preventative maintenance altogether and pay like $1000 every two years for a new fork. Easy decision for me.

A must have!
- Familiarity:

Suspension parts don't maintain themselves. Keep that expensive fork running to its fullest potential by keeping replaceable parts swapped out every 100 riding hours or sooner.

It's probably a good idea to take care of that pricey fork of yours, and this is the best way to do it. Keep your fork clean, and your fork will love you forever!

Seals the Deal
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Had some leakage on my 34, swapped out seals, and the leak is gone! Removing them took some effort as I was scared to just manhandle them, but that's pretty much what I needed to to. Installing new seals was a pain to get in level and pushed as I don't have the install tool; I don't really have a trick for them.

Wipey Wipey

Wipe the dust off your stanchions so they don't get inside the fork. I usually change these on my forks at least once a season, more if I've been riding in nasty weather. These work great, make sure you have a dedicated seal pushing tool so you don't damage them when installing.

At some point you will need these
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
As others have said, try to replace your seals and oil once a season at minimum to keep your fork running smooth. I sometimes fall behind and get lax with suspension service. Changing seals and oil makes your fork feel like new again, and reminds me why you're supposed to do it regularly. It will prolong the life of your fork if you do.

Crucial maintenance
These should be in the tool box of every serious rider. Forks take a beating throughout the course of a season and changing the seals/fluid is critical. Plus they are very reasonably priced.

Fresh forks
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Look up some youtube videos, gather your parts, and spent a night in the garage freshening your fork up. Your seals take a lot of abuse, make sure you pop some new ones in before it's too late!

be careful, image does not match product
silly me, I went by the image but did not search for other examples of flangeless dust wipers. The image on the website shows the old style dust wipers, not the flangeless ones. Dont make my mistake, double check which ones you have before ordering..... especially before pulling the old ones out of your fork like i did :-/ in my picture the old seal is on the left (the one shown on the website) and the flangeless seal is the one on the right. I gave it 5 starts because i have replaced my FOX wipers many times before and they have always performed flawlessly :-)
