Terribly fitting

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Not only is the medium too large but the clasp on the front is very difficult to use. 5’6” 135 lbs ordered medium.

chamois sucks

My wife is a size 1 or so. the chamois was so small she couldn't get it past her thighs and she is a tiny woman. If you are sub size 2 do not order small. The shorts were probably fine but the chamois was not.

Sorry to hear, Brian! I am emailing you now to see about a return on those.

Black has differ material and chamois

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have two purple pair and then got a black pair and the material and chamois and tightening system was different. Like the purple a bit more. These are the first shorts that fit me right that I have found. I now own 3 pairs. I can wear them all day without a problem.

    Just what i needed

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I always had a difficult time riding without the proper shorts. These solved that problem! They fit very well and provide great padding and support. Most MTB shorts are not the most flattering... but i feel like these are not too bad!

    Runs Large

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I returned this item before having a chance to put it into use. When buying keep in mind that they run large in size and chamois. I'm a size 10 pants and the large was a fist size too large in the waistband. Had ordered a different pair/brand that fit well so I did not have the need to exchange and try the medium. I'm 5'8, 160lbs - the leg fell right above my knee. The chamois is also rather large, which some may prefer (too large for me), it has side 'wings' / full coverage. I also did not feel that these had a very 'feminine' fit.

    Wife loves them!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

She loves them, but wishes that there were more pockets...

    Mixed Results

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got these for my wife and she absolutely loves the shorts, but the internal liner was too small for her. She loved the shorts so much that she just used a different liner and kept them. With the sizing, the liner does fit a little more snug for the size, so it might be worth trying a few sizes to see which one works the best.

    More of these, please!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great, comfortable shorts for hard training sessions, hitting the pump track, or grinding it out on a long cross country ride. The shorts hit just above the knee, not too baggy, not to tight. The waist band on the liner is wider so it doesn't cut in but really comfortable. I'm 5'8" and 145 lbs and ordered a medium. Fits perfectly.

Got this for the wife. Most MTN bike clothes are not to flattering on women, but this fits great and does not look to awkward.

    Sizing is off!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium

The liner size and the short size don't match up. I ordered a medium and the liner fits perfect, but the shorts are so big they don't stay on. I'm 5'5 and 125 pounds. I noticed this problem with all Fox shorts. I love Fox's style and colors, but I suffer trying to keep my shorts on!

So great - Purcahsed in EVERY color

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I can't get enough of these shorts. They fit so well i had to get them in every color - comfy chamois and soft liner that stays in place, perfect pant length falls right above the knees, and the leg openings are just the right size...not too big or billowy. Ripley Fox shorts are the real deal for comfortable trail rides & intense shred sesh's. (I’m 5’4”130lbs waist size 27 - purchased size Medium they’re a tad on the loose side but the adjustable waist band on the interior helps to get a snug fit around my waist...smalls would have been way to tight in my thighs when peddling)

So great - Purcahsed in EVERY color

    Great short. Hard sizing.

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Well made, amazing cut! Sizing runs a wee bit large tho'. I ordered a L (5'4"-140#) and it was too big. Unfortunately, I had to return it...and there were no mediums left in the color I wanted. However, BackCountry was great with the return process and even tho I ordered the med. from a different retailer, I thought I'd share my review here as an fyi. Im wearing the medium now and its a great fit...comfy chamois and silky-soft liner, perfect pant length falls right above the knees, and the leg openings are just the right size...not big or billowy. Fox shorts are all around amazing.

    Awesome shorts

Love these shorts! These are my second pair of Fox mountain bike shorts and I love them. The chamois is super comfortable too. I got a small and am 5'6" 125 lbs. and I do wish I got a medium. I sometimes am in the middle of a small and medium though. So just depends on how you like your shorts to fit, especially when riding.

      All-Around MTB Short

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Shorter length mountain bike shorts, they have a mid-weight canvas feel that's got a slight stretch, overall they are flattering on tall and skinny people. If you want something that covers the gap between the thigh and knee, these may run a tad bit short to avoid branch scratches.

      All-Around MTB Short

      Love these shorts

      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: small

Fit great, really padded lining, easy to adjust

      Wish I loved it

      • Size Bought: s

I tried these shorts in M (too big) and S. The short was a great fit but the liner was too tight so sadly it has to go back as well. The short is very nice fitting, well-made. I might have kept it if it had zipper pockets and I could use a different liner but the lack of pockets was a deal-breaker.

      New go to!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These shorts are great. Comfortable and easy to adjust. I got a L at first which was too big ( I am a little under 6'1 and 154lbs for reference). Excited to use this for some Fall riding :)

Thanks for the helping with sizing, Elizabeth. It's so helpful for our community!

      Best Bike Shorts

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great length, color, cut and fit. Worth getting multiple pairs of these for sure,

      Best I've Found

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Medium

I think I tried 75% of the MTB shorts we have on the site, and these were by far the best (least awful looking). I realize that's not the only thing that matters, so for what it's worth, these have also held up incredibly well throughout the season and they're the only shorts I have. I'm a 28" waist and the Mediums fit perfectly (though the Size Chart says Large would be my size). The waistband on the chamois is thin elastic, so it squeezes in an unflattering way... but until Lulu breaks into the MTB market, these'll do perfectly.
