Shield your scarred, scraped knees depending on the terrain you're exploring with Fox Racing's Launch Pro D3O Knee Guard. Featuring a mix of synthetic fabric as well as a removable hardshell knee cap, the Launch Pro adapts to give you the protection you need on any given day. Harsh desert slickrock may necessitate the protection of a hardshell, while preventing scrapes and skinned knees may be more of your concern on smoother singletrack. However you wear it, the breathable fabric will keep air moving as you sweat it out on summer rides, ensuring protection doesn't come at the cost of comfort on the trail.
- Prevent a new crop of scars this summer with this knee guard
- Removable hardshell protects kneecap on rocky terrain
- Ariaprene neoprene is non-toxic and hypoallergenic
- Hook-and-loop strap keeps knee guard in place

Balanced DH pad
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
These have become my go to pads for days at the bike park, rowdy DH and jump trails and even dirt jumps. I was a bit skeptical at first of the plastic cap and that it might limit range of motion, but it fits perfectly with the knee cap. I have only had to remove it for washing so far. The pads breathe pretty well however they are a bit heavy duty for trail rides. They do limit motion a bit when pedaling uphill, so I only wear these for short uphills. As far as protection goes these are impressive, they offer a decent amount of shin protection and the knee cap is solid even on the worst of impacts. The pads offer some good protection on the sides of the knee as well, and lasted me through a whole season which I cannot say for all pads I have tried. When I am riding lift service or shuttle trails, I really don't even notice that I have them on. I am 6'4" at 185 lbs and I wear a large.
Is there a sizing guide for these?
Awesome Pads - highly recommend
these have become my go to downhill pads of choice. fit is very comfortable and these breathe remarkably well. removable hard plastic shell provides great protection and does not move or shift in the case of a hard fall. my only critique is the lower calf strap - the fit is very very loose on the bottom.
Rad Pads
Great pads, fit very comfortable. The hard plastic is great when you take a spill allows you to slide of the dirt/roots/rocks very nice instead of dead stopping. Very nice to be able to take the hard shell off to when climbing gives you a better range of motion when peddling. The red color looks rad too.

Great knee guards. barely noticeable when climbing and provide plenty of protection on the downhill. Red is pretty sexy for a knee guard too!
Update a Year Later*
Still love these guards. Velco isn't as sticky but never really a problem because the inside of the pad grip keeps the guard in place. Few minor cracks in the plastic caps but not really a problem. Overall Great knee guards. will buy again when i need new ones.
Versatile
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
These are great pads for anyone who wants protection for their local or downhill trails. The plastic knee guard can be removed for mellower terrain but when you want to kick things up a notch the pads adapt to what you are riding. Also if you plan on riding with them on the way up they breath well and I can barely notice they are on. I have thinner calves and knees and I went with the M. I'm 6'2 175lbs
What was your measurements for your legs?
Hey Shandy, my upper strap measurement is 16.5" and the bottom strap is 13".
Great fit
Solid pads!
Thank you for the review Josh!
