Description

Send it without fear.

Whether or not you ever enter an Enduro race, there’s no denying that the Fox Launch Enduro Elbow Guards are a step in the right direction. Gone are the days of bulky, skate-style elbow pads that were more restrictive than protective. The Launch Enduros consist of a soft pad mounted to what amounts to an arm warmer — in other words, they’re unrestrictive, yet provide a great deal of protection against the bumps and bruises you’re likely to face on the trail. Isn’t progress great?

The Launch Enduro starts out with a perforated neoprene sleeve at the outside of your arm, and a lightweight stretch panel on the inside. The inner panel is built from a dense mesh, which helps to evacuate sweat and excess heat, while the perforated neoprene outside helps to keep the pad locked in place, instead of slipping down your arm mid-run. The soft elbow pad has an abrasion-resistant shell, which enhances durability. And the pre-curved shape means that you won’t have to deal with excess bunching or pulling. After all, riding is dynamic, and it helps when your pads work with you.

The Fox Launch Enduro Elbow Guards are available in four sizes, from Small to X-Large, and in the colors Black and Grey.

Let Me Tell You About These Pads..

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got these as a gift for the girlfriend. Solid protection and great durability. She enjoys the fit and says the comfort is there all day, so no complaints. Light weight and doesn't move all around either.

Light and Easy!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I just got the matching knee pads and figured it was time to upgrade the elbow pads as well. While I wear these less often than knee pads, I like the light weight design and can't wait to use them again!

Really good pads.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This are not DH pads. This is a great AM-trail protection kit. Knee and elbow are very comfortable, as cliche as it might sound, you won´t realize you are wearing pads when riding. They will have a great abrassion protection and some impact relief. Also, they are light and easy to store in your backpack.

Nice Guards, Run Large

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I would agree with the other reviews, that the sizing may be a challenge for many females. Overall, Fox has great design. The style is not bulky the padding is great. Unfortunately I had to return because the sizing simply did not work.

Maybe not so girl friendly

I have been using the Enduro knee pads all summer and decided to protect the elbows too with this product. Similar to the knee pads, the fit is a little off here as well. I am pretty muscley in the upper extremities for a woman, and even the size Small's fit was off. The bottom of the sleeve is tight, but the upper band is definitely not tight enough to make them stay in place. I still use them however to stay protected and as long as they don't slide down (about 30% of the time) they work great! I might take Liz's advice below and work some sewing machine magic for these to be perfect!

will keep your skin (mostly) on, odd fit

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Despite having these on for my most recent slew of crashes, I've still ended up with pretty bad road rash on my forearm and a still-sore elbow (weeks later)... I think I can chalk it up mostly to the weird fit, which is probably geared more towards dudes who have biceps than ladies (in particular, myself) whose forearms and upper arms might be of similar circumference. They're loose around my upper arms and tight around my forearms - basically I have to pull these REALLY far up to get them to stay put, and they still tend to slip down with DH bumpiness.

If they fit better, the light padding would probably be in the right place for them to provide more protection. For now I'm wearing them because they're better than nothing, but I'm looking to replace them soon.

Nice crash coverage, but fall down

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love the material and padding. Great crash protection when they are on my arm properly... but unfortunately, fall down with high-speed DH chatter. And yes, I bought the right size....
Fox would do well to install a velcro strap on the top, so they stay put.

    Tight!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I am 6'3" and have bigger legs and arms. I am noticing that most XL and even XXL elbow pads only go up to about a 14 inch bicep with the biggest being around 16 inch max. I thought these would stretch and they did but not enough. No I don't lift bro, but these were too tight. Also they will only protect you from scraping your skin. They are super thin so if you slam hard plan on feeling some pain. I know there are a lot of guys out there with with big legs and arms riding bikes. I feel like XL and XXL pads should fit like an XL and XXL. I had to send these back. I will probably order the 661 rage pads and if they are too tight I will have to cut the stretchy backing and just use the velcro straps. I guess its time to start a pad company for dudes with more than skin and bones on their arms and legs. All current pads are made for roadies.

    Lightweight protection

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this product after having a few crashes and landing on the same elbow/forearm multiple times. Great for general trail riding/XC, but would probably not work well in a true DH setting. Hardly even know you have it on. No crashes with it so far, so can't speak to how much true protection it gives, but for my needs I think it will work just fine.

Product does come as a pair

They feel great ! Ready to eat some dirt! Jaja
