Fox RacingDefend Fire Pant - Men's
Item # FXR039M
Even if conditions are less than ideal, saddle up your steed and get ready to rip with the Fox Racing Defend Fire Pants. With stretchy ripstop construction, a warm fleece lining, and a Durable Water Repellent finish, you'll have no problem sending it down snow-laced trails well beyond the days when your buddies have hung up their bikes for the season. In addition to their advanced weather protection, the Defend Fire Pants feature abrasion-resistant Cordura seat and knee panels for added protection in these high rub areas, fending off stray branches and rocks and preventing the pants from getting torn up if you crash. The fabric offers ample stretch too, allowing the pants move with you when you're mashing pedals and maneuvering your bike through tricky rock gardens. Pre-shaped knees and a tapered leg pair well with the stretch to move freely when you're working your way up precarious climbs, while the Race Ratchet waist closure offers on-the-fly adjustment and a secure fit across rough terrain.

There aren't too many cold weather specific mountain bike pants out there that don't look like ill-designed snowpants. These look good, block wind, and insulate well. The taper and elastic cuff are well designed and keep out snow when you have to put a foot down out of the track. I've had them on about a dozen rides so far from temps between 0-32F. At "higher" temps its pretty easy to get to warm and get swampy legs, but that's not too much of an issue because ride times are generally shorter in these temperatures. The pants are not too durable to pedal strikes, mine have a few small tears in them already. I think Fox could have used sturdier denier nylon in the shin area. Sizing is accurate and the waist closure system is well thought out.

Great pant for winter riding. Lots of room in the knees for pads. Worth the price.
