Great fitness tracking device

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

The Fitbit Charge HR is a wonderful product, I got this for my daughter and she loves it and the plum is one of her favorite colors. She likes that fact that it does what she wants it to do and it easier for her to wear.

Fitbit Charge Wireless Heart Rate +

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I gave this as a gift, and have gotten some feedback, but I figured I'd throw up a link to a helpful youtube video as well, that will definitely give you some good info on this product.
MY gift recipient is super stoked on this product, and says that it has helped her to become more active, and even subconsciously motivated her to continue to hit the gym, or go for runs, and hikes.

Here is that link to that helpful youtube video:
By no means do I intend to claim this video as my own, or as my property, just thought it was a helpful video.

Pretty good

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: Runs small

All the tracking seems to work correctly. I carried one in my pocket for a short time for someone and ended up scratching the screen with my keys. This is likely not going to be an issue for most people since it will stay on their wrist but I was surprised how easily the screen picked up scratches. I guess I'm a little used to how well phone screens avoid scratches.
I picked out a fitbit as a present because I have heard that fitbit had better app support than other fitness trackers. The app for the iPad mini was basically just the phone app scaled up, for some reason I was expecting more, like a tablet specific app.
It fits rather oddly on tiny wrists, but probably works out well for the majority of adults.

So far so good!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Recently purchased and works as advertised. The 5-day battery life is a bit of a stretch. Depending on settings 3 days is more realistic but it charges super fast. Low profile and comfortable design.

Great features - Not so Durable

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I agree with some of the other reviews in that these aren't the most durable items in the world, however, what they lack in durability they make up for in features for the price.

Outstanding Product

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

First impressions were, I want one of these for myself. Low profile, light, and is a great tool for keeping track of your health. Everyone needs a Fitbit!

Track Away!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

My girlfriend started using this mostly in an effort to track steps through the work day and at times when she is not specifically exercising. She loves having the motivation to accumulate activity throughout a typical day and not isolate the effort to designated times of exercise. She also likes the heart rate feature, and loosely monitors the changes over time. The associated app provides great information and has been a fun motivator to stay moving! One last benefit is that it has shown to be totally waterproof, so there's no hassle with taking it off for showers, etc.
The reason it's not 5 stars is that the steps don't always totally align with the mileage, and steps haven't matched at all with mileage when using on the treadmill.

Better than expected

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Its great to see that even without noticing everything is being tracked, you just live your life and when you want to know how has your week been, you jump online and see the magic numbers. Love the sleep tracking, I had an idea of my sleeping patterns, but this helped me understand how much little sleep I was actually getting. As for the heart tracking, even though people complain about the accuracy, I find it more valuable to measure relative increase/decrease of effort, rather than hitting X bpm. Love it! Use it every day. Only bad thing is my wife complains I no longer wear the watches she gave me :D

Great product.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

Takes a little getting used to wearing while I sleep. The app is easy to use and the band itself provides a lot of info on the display. Overall a good purchase.

Fitbit Charge works great for my kiddo!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

Bought this for my kiddo on her 12th birthday and it was easy to set up, sync to her iphone6, start using. We got the small and it fits great on the second to last loop. She actually dunked in the tub while giving her 3 month old brother a bath but it wasn't phased at all. It's tracking data just fine, has been since we got it. Not much else to say other than you should get one :)

Update of my previous review...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I should have contacted titbit's customer service before I posted my previous review. There is a full year warranty, and they stand behind their products. The customer service agent what very helpful and friendly. I would have liked to be able to swap for a different (less$) model, but they will only replace the model previously purchased. But they get a 5+ star rating for customer service.

Doesn't hold up well

If I had written this review when I first got my fitbit, I LOVED it, and would have given it 5*s. But, the watch face scratched almost instantly, and now, 7 months later, the band is totally separating (delaminating?) from the face. Also, it is impossible to read in the sunlight. That said, it is overall a great product, and I am thinking going with the4 FitBit Alta. That seems to fit women's wrists better. And while a lot of people have commented on the heart rate being inaccurate, mine has been accurate for the most part. I do wish it was waterproof, not just resistant. And don't believe the charge lasts 5 days. Maybe if you plug it in when you are in the shower...

Excellent !!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My wife uses it to make exercise and so far it is very comfortable, no need of additional bands.

Not very waterproof

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I enjoy tracking data, the observers effect is strong with this device. You'll go for more walks and rides just to build up your stats.
It's not an highly accurate device, but if you take the data relative to the body of data it builds you can get a good picture on where your at from day to day.
It not very waterproof. I'm on my second replacement. It's a pain to remember to pull it off on days I'm guiding the river, or just playing in the pool.

Pro Tip: Road ID makes a dog tag for the Charge HR.

Pay attention to the size chart, measure your wrist.

This product is amazing. Always wanted one and finally got it! I was blown away on the way it tracks your sleep! Good device to keep track of your health

Better in a year or so

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I love the silent alarm and that it only lights up my time keeper when I bring my wrist to my viewing point. This is a good product but its mostly making the way for products like it in the future. I bought this for my anxiety and sleep. I tend to check my pulse a lot when I am stressed out and wanted to skip that step completely. I think the activity counter, foot stepper, and heart beat is a bit off. It is not exactly accurate but it gives you a good estimate. I believe in a year or two this technology will be improved significantly

For My Mom

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: Runs large

I bought this as a Mother's Day gift to replace my mom's previous Fitbit which bit the dust. And, what do you know? She loves it. The watch-style band is definitely an upgrade over the previous Charge (no HR sensor) which would randomly open during activity. The steps/activity counter is definitely up to Fitbit's reputation. The only complaint is that the pink plastic next to the display clashes garishly with the purple band color.

My mom has tiny wrists, and the small is a little big on her. The heart rate sensor still works, but you can definitely see the blinky green LED when she moves around.
