The Tempo Microtex Bondcush Classic Bar Tape from Fi'zi:k is all-new and is catered to those who prefer a little more cushion between their hands and the bar. That makes it an ideal choice for cyclocross racers, gravel riders, or any cyclist doing endurance rides over less than ideal roads. Sitting at a healthy 3mm, it's thick enough to add some additional padding without feeling overly bulky and losing the feel of your bar.
We've seen efforts from Fi'zi:k in the past to add gel comfort in the form of pads that sit on top of the bar which is then wrapped by tape. It worked well in theory, however, the gel turns into quite a mess after a few months, it makes the bar is harder to wrap, and the pads can shift around. In an effort to get a similar result without the headache, the brand now offers Bondcush, a layered, mid-padding polymer foam that aids in the absorption of road noise. It's bonded to that familiar leather-like Microtex outer layer offering grip, durability, and great looks.

The only tape that stays clean
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I run this on all my drop bar bikes and I like to have color or white bar tape and the classic finish is the only one I've found that stays clean. The only downside is if you are a heavy sweater you will need gloves as the finish does get a bit slick when wet.

Good bar tape easy to install

Like the pattern, was easy to put on, and looks like it will hold up well to my four to five rides a week. Only wish it was slightly more padded but that might be personal preference as it is exactly as described.

Stays white

Used a number of different brands of white tape. Have been using this for 6 months now, and it's still as clean as the day it was installed. Fantastic bar tape, very comfortable.

Classic. Grippy. Easy to Install.

I am a tennis player so wrapping grip tape is fairly second nature. The tempo grip doesn't stretch much so you may have to pull it quite tight. The thickness lends itself nicely to tension as well as cushioning. There is almost too much bar tape given since I had a lot left over. They even give you extra for the handlebar cover. Overall very satisfied. The only annoyance was the stiffness of the tape makes putting the bar ends in a bit cumbersome for neatness
