Description

Cyrano R1 Stem

Fi'zi:k's Spine Concept System is most recognized as being the driving philosophy behind its saddle design. More recently, it used the same concept to develop handlebars that work in conjunction with the saddles to create a cockpit for any rider — regardless of how flexible they may be. Now the Cyrano R1 Stem completes the cockpit.

The Cyrano R1 was constructed from Aluminum Ergal and Aluminum Anticorodal. Ergal is a 7075 series aluminum and Anticorodal is a Swiss alloy which features a tensile strength of 20 tons per square inch. Together these materials form a stem that can withstand even the most aggressive sprint. The stem is attached to the steerer fork with two allen screws and to the handlebar with four allen screws on a faceplate. This design makes it easy to remove the handlebars if necessary ro travel or adjustments. It fits handlebars with a 31.8mm diameter.

The Cyrano R1 Stemweighs 128grams. It is available in the following sizes:100mm/20deg, 100mm/7deg, 110mm/20deg, 110mm/7deg, 120mm/20deg, 120mm/7deg, 130mm/20deg, 130mm/7deg, 80mm/20deg, 80mm/7deg, 90mm/20deg, 90mm/7deg and in one color: Black.

  • Fi'zi:k stem designed to pair best with their own Cyrano Handlebar and Seatpost
  • Strong and lightweight Aluminum Ergal and Aluminum Anticorodal
  • Delivers seven and twenty degree angles for fit positions
  • Standard 4-bolt faceplate offers accessible adjustments

I own two

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I used one on my gravel bike and it held up perfectly through the Belgium Waffle Ride on my Boone. The other I put on my wife's bike as a retrofit to get her a little more upright; the 20 deg working great so far.

Sexy

The look is great and doesn't move at torque specs.

Will this cockpit work for a bike with a 1 1/4 steerer tube? Or is this designed just for the standard 1 1/8 steerer?

Class.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This is one of the classiest stems available today. It has no bizarre "aero" bulging shapes, relatively understated branding, and a clean, uncluttered bar clamp design. Fizik's painted-on guides also help keep your cockpit setup similar or make minor adjustments. I hate the inevitable micro-slipping that happens while you're tightening clamp bolts. Those marks help keep you on track.

Perfect

A few little things sets this apart. Firstly the screws are very high quality. Secondly the faceplate is narrower and perfect for aero road bars with a limited clamp space. Bar fly has a great garmin mount that allows for the Garmin to be perfectly centered.

heads up

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Just a heads up on this stem, the 80mm ones don't say Fizik on the side since there isn't room. It just has the K. I'm not sure how long you have to go before it fits the whole word. I thought it was a great stem overall but the length/angle combo just didn't feel right so I ended up with a different stem

Great stem

Love the 7 degree rise! If you have back issues and concerned about posture then this is the stem for you!

Awesome!

Beautifully made, strong and stiff and a much better fit for my 3T bars than their stealth stem. Carbon paste, 4Nm for a solid fix. Love Fizik stuff, their shoes are also quite brilliant. If they ever make a frameset I'll be the first to buy it.

Beautifully

Thanks for including a photo of this item on your bike. It helps to see it in place.

Solid

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I wanted a slightly shorter stem to change my cockpit, and I purchased this Fizik. No complaints other than the annoying torque screws that came with it, so I had to purchase another tool to install it.

Solid stem

I really have no negatives here. It's stiff, light and does what it needs to do.

solid and stiff, great value

Stems are one of the few items that I don't worry about spending a fortune on carbon as long as you have a good one and this fits the bill. Stiff, light, install it and no worries, holds up great.

no complaints

I have this stem, and fizik bars, on two of my bikes, and i love them. I love the look of the stem, and lets be honest, the barfly for fizik stems is the cleanest garmin mount out. i dont feel any flex while sprinting, and have had zero issues with this stem. The torx screws were a surprise, but the ritchey torque key (which everyone needs) came with a T20 so no big deal.
