Comfort begets PR's.

The Fizik Antares VS K:ium Saddle occupies the middle ground between the Arione and Aliante saddles, and it's perfect for riders who like a flatter saddle like the Arione, but long for a bit more width like that found in the Aliante. In comparison to the Aliante, the Antares provides you with more freedom to adjust your body position, allowing you to shift around on the saddle and remain comfortable on everything from long, slow climbs to miles spent pushing through flats in your drops. The Versus distinction on this model of the Antares means that it also includes an accommodating pressure-relief channel for riders who had long been asking Fizik to add one.

The Versus range of saddles makes use of thicker foam than their standard Fizik counterparts, specifically shaped to provide extra cushioning for your load-bearing sit bones. Another feature that sets the Antares apart from other similar models is its nose width; most saddles are barely 40mm wide at the nose, but the Antares was constructed with a nose width of 45mm, which makes the saddle more comfortable if you spend a lot of time in the drops or if you typically ride with a significant saddle-to-bar drop. This padding sits atop a carbon-reinforced nylon shell, designed to flex gently across the entire saddle for a consistent amount of suppleness that doesn't detract from the Antares' ability to transfer power.

This shell is supported by Fizik's K:ium rails, which are 8% lighter than standard titanium rails courtesy of added silicon and chrome. The combination of these materials results in an improved strength-to-weight ratio, as well as less likelihood of corrosion compared to titanium on its own. Fizik stretches an antimicrobial, weather-resistant Microtex cover over the entire saddle to protect the Antares from the elements so it can accompany you for miles to come.
