Description

Velo Hinge

Space is valuable, and hardware-store hooks not only suffer from utilitarian appearance, they force bicycles perpendicular to the wall. The Velo Hinge from Feedback Sports, on the other hand, allows the hook to pivot, so bicycles take up less floor space.

Just as appealing as compact storage, these quality powder-coated steel hooks collapse and are hidden when not in use -- which means a clean aesthetic that's suitable for studios or apartments. The Velo Hinge comes assembled for left sided pivoting, but can be switched for use to the right. Feedback Sports rates the Velo Hinge at 50 pounds, so everything short of electric-assist bicycles can hang out.

The Feedback Sports Velo Hinge measures 7.25 x 3.5 x 0.63in folded.

  • Side-pivoting hook (pivots both left and right)
  • Rear-wheel stabilizer
  • Folds away when not in use

Great solution for my garage wall

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

The Velo Hinge was a great solution for hanging four bikes on the wall of my garage. The ability to swing the bikes to the side ensured that even though I had enough clearance between my cars and bikes when they are straight out from the wall, I now have plenty of space to walk between the cars and bike when at an angle to the wall. My kids have enough strength to pick the bike up the inch or two to reach the hook also since they just pull the bike up onto its rear tire, then can just lift it that short distance to get the front tire in the hook. The one annoyance is why the manufacturer doesnt just sell the hinge with the longer hook. I ended getting the longer hook for all four in my garage.. even though not all my bikes need it.. but I didnt want to worry about having the family remember which hook is which..

Minor detail: the size

I am sure these work great, but the product pics of it holding a hard tail are a bit deceiving. If you want this to work for your non-road/gravel bike tires, you will apparently need to purchase an additional hook (at $10 a piece) for them to fit (but even that product description doesn't say up to what size). Just would have been nice for that to be clear in the descriptions. Not saying don't buy it if you want them, just know what you are buying. Or would be nice to have the option of a product that is just made for bigger tires without needing to pay extra.

Will this fit a plus size 27.5 tire? Like 27.5x2.8?

The hook itself is only 2.8 inches, so no, it won't fit.

Just what I needed

I needed something to hold my bike, and to be able to move it to the side to save space in my garage. This worked perfectly towards that end. The hinge allows you to choose to what side you want to push the bike.

Great Bike Storage Solution

Don't waste your time with crappy hooks from home depot. These are solid, look great, easy to install and best of all will not bend or pull out of the wall.

is does not work with my plus tire bikes? do you have longer hooks?

Great Bike Storage

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I picked up 3 of these hooks as I temporarily only have a small storage closet for all of my gear. These hooks are great! They are a breeze to install, literally just drill a few screws in, and your bikes are up off the floor! I would say my only complaint is that the hooks can only be used in one direction. As you can see in my picture, it would be nice if the hook swiveled all the way and still able to store the bike in the reverse direction. All in all, a great way to gets bikes out of the way. Feel free to reach out directly to me with any questions about these hooks, or anything else on the site.

Thanks for the descriptive review! I’ve got 27.5 + tires, 2.8’s. Do you think they would fit in this rack?

Velo Hinge for a 29" MTB? I've got a Stan's Tubless 29" Mtn Bike. Can I use the standard hinge with my bike?

Best Garage Bike Storage Solution

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I'm obsessed with these hinges. I ended up buying 3 to start out with, and hung all my families bikes in the garage. And I've recently purchased 4 more for the rest of my junk in my garage (they are good for everything in your garage!). Really easy to install. It's great that they are sold individually, because you can find the studs in your garage and drill them in anywhere or alternate heights. They also save a ton of room because of the hinge, our bikes all lay flat in the garage.

Easy to use, and useful too

This was a cinch to install, and it really does work. Nice to be able to move the bikes out of the way a little and make more room for the car/walking by the bike.

I put these in my shed and they looked great! These are way better than the what you can buy at other stores as far as hooks for bikes go.

Great invention

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I got 6 of these for me and my family to store our bikes. They are amazing. I mounted them on typical stud width(16" on center) and with some up and down adjustment for each bike I was able to get the bikes really tight to the wall without them banging into each other or getting scratched. Put 6 bikes on the wall and can now park in the garage again. The furthest any of the bikes are from the wall is 28". Basically the width of the bar on my Highball. Installation was a breeze. Way easier than your typical bike hook. If wall space wasn't a premium putting them at every other stud as seem in the pics above could make things easier. In order to get my bikes as tight as I did I had to make some adjustments.

Best photo we've seen to date of the Velo Hinge in use! Thanks for taking this shot Ben and thanks for the support! If you don't mind we would like to share this on our social media!

I would be sold if you gave 5 stars and had just the picture without any words.
