The Scorpion MTB Pro Stand has all the same attributes that the regular MTB Stand has, but with the added advantage of being able to disassemble the stand so that you can easily store it in your car to take to races.
Anyone familiar with motocross may recognize the inspiration behind the Scorpion. The inventor is a former motocross rider who segued into mountain biking and wanted the same sort of stand to work on his bikes. Pays to be a tinkerer, because he was able to throw together what he wanted in his California workshop. The best designs are always the simplest. The Scorpion stand is compatible with nearly all hollow-spindle mountain bike cranks. You simply stick the stand arm into the hollow spindle, and it will support your bike. Once the bike is mounted, the rear tire will sit off the ground and spin freely. So any gear shifting or other maintenance work aft will be easy to do.
At just four pounds, it is lightweight enough to take with you to the races, and compact enough to be used to store your bikes in the basement or garage. It will work with 26”, 27.5”, and 29” wheels. Each stand comes with adapter to fit the various sizes of hollow cranks, which means that it is compatible with Shimano, SRAM, Rotor/FSA, Specialized, Truvativ, and Cannondale either when you use the adaptor sleeves, or take the plastic sleeve off all together. And if you have been converted to a dropper post, the Scorpion MTB Pro Stand will make working on your rig so much easier, since it will not need to clamp onto the seatpost like a traditional stand.
