ViSTA Allroad Frameset

With bike sales and participation in gravel events continuing to grow, it's really no surprise that more and more high-tech bikes have entered the fray designed and engineered to help cyclists go faster, further, and with more comfort while training and racing. The ViSTA Allroad Frameset by Factor Bikes is the newest addition to our all-road portfolio and perhaps one of the most performance-driven. Built for the discerning riders, it’s a system-integrated chassis consisting of a frame, fork, integrated bar and stem, and seatpost with the goal of providing ultimate performance on mixed terrain rides.

Like all of Factor's bikes, the ViSTA is system engineered as a chassis designed to channel your power into speed while handling the most technical terrain. The ViSTA features an all-road performance geometry with special attention to the fork trail and bottom bracket drop to keep handling consistent across all sizes and is optimized for tires between 30 and 35mm wide. Its stack and reach measurements along with its integrated OTIS-AR bar and stem puts the rider in the ideal position for going fast for hours over demanding terrain.

Factor is no stranger in producing strong, light, and efficient carbon framesets, just look at the podiums of the 2018 editions of the Strade and Roubaix and its success with its 02. It further refined the carbon layup for the ViSTA, especially on the seatstays, upper portion of the downtube, and fork legs using size-specific carbon layups optimized for impact and shock absorption, for a durable frame that’s more comfortable over long distances. Thanks to its ability to manufacture carbon in-house, Factor is able to respond quickly and make changes to the carbon lay-up until it got the desired results for both stiffness and compliance.

This is a racing bike through and through so thankfully the improved compliance doesn't sacrifice Factor's renowned torsional bottom bracket stiffness while sprinting and climbing. That stiffness comes courtesy of its continuous downtube-to-chainstay “power-drive” construction shared from its much-lauded road platforms. This structure provides responsiveness and power transfer with a rock solid connection. Additionally, the use of a BBright bottom bracket shell paired with the asymmetric wide downtube helps improve the torsional stiffness and opens up the chainstays for plenty of tire clearance. The seatstays of the ViSTA are also designed to absorb the irregularities of pavement and gravel. Featuring thin sections, an upper curvature, and a refined carbon layup, the seatstays soak up bumps and increase traction and control.

Likewise, the front of the frameset receives a torsionally stiff headtube-downtube junction with its proprietary OTIS external fork getting an all-road optimized version of the system. Like the frame, the fork's carbon layup is optimized for vibration absorption while remaining torsionally stiff thanks to the external, double clamp design and solid connection to the integrated bar and stem. It's shaped using Factor’s aerodynamic know-how and CFD capabilities, based on its experience developing the ONE and SLiCK, and while aerodynamics is everything in gravel, every bit helps. This fork also features hidden fender mounts for year-round use, flat-mount caliper mounts, 12mm thru-axle, and clearance for up to 35mm tires. The OTIS design also allows for easy and totally hidden internal cable routing for drivetrain cables and brake housing and you can adjust the handlebar stack height with the provided spacers without the need to redo the cabling or cut the fork.

The ViSTA’s integrated bar and stem plays an integral role in the chassis design and complements the desired riding characteristics of stiff and responsive when pushed hard, but comfortable elsewhere so you can ride longer and fresher. The geometry of the handlebar, optimized through intensive FEA, is adapted for all-road use, with a slight backsweep on the tops and flared drops ending with a bar shape featuring 125mm of reach and 80mm of drop. A stout, corrosion-resistant stainless steel 4-bolt connection to the top of the fork also increases stiffness and allows for headset installation and preload to be independent of handlebar assembly allowing you to take it off for travel while the fork and headset stay installed on the frame, while offering ample knee clearance during sprints or climbing out of the saddle with no bolts to strike.

The 20mm set back, flat-back VISTA AR seatpost continues compliance theme with a profile that allows for more forgiveness compared to a round seatpost. Its long fiber carbon layup allows for its shock absorption while avoiding bobbing under power. The 1-bolt forged aluminum saddle clamp eases installation and it comes with clamps for 7×7 (metal) and 7×9 (carbon) rails. Additionally, it's provided with a Di2 battery holder for electronic use.

The ViSTA comes as a frame, fork, seatpost, integrated bar and stem, headset, and CeramicSpeed bottom bracket and adaptors. It's compatible with 1 and 2x, for both mechanical and electronic drivetrains. The internal routing shields cables and housing from the shifters to the derailleurs and calipers providing a clean look and protection. It's also supplied with a removable FD hanger, a 1X cover, all grommets needed for electronic drivetrain cables, and an integrated computer mount.
