I have a 2017 Honda Ridgeline and the bed width is 50". wondering if this will still fit if the Evoc pad is soft and can be squished in the ends. I really like this product and the reviews are excellent. thanks, Marshall Miller

Hi Marshall,

I am confident that the extra 3.5 inches (1.75 per side) can be folded / curved so that it will fit your tailgate, however you will not be able to open and close the tailgate with the pad on, and I would worry a little bit about it covering the tail lights.

Hey, Marshall, I have a 2017 Ridgeline as well and am wondering how this product is working for you? Thanks, Tom

The best out there

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

While I have not used all of the tailgate pads out there, between myself and my buddies, we have most of them covered. I just picked this up for my 2014 Tacoma and it fits perfectly. Excellent material indicates that I will have this for the long haul. I love the padded spacers and the strap quality is much nicer than my last pad. If I were to call out a minor gripe, when you get the pads tailgate handle flap situated so you can use your backup camera, it messes up the aesthetic of the EVOC logo. Like I said, minor.
Materials are solid
Construction is quality
It is not going to destroy my tailgate
It is easy on the bikes

5 stars because quite frankly, I don't think any of the competition is quite up to this level.

What size did you get for your Tacoma?

I ordered the M/L for the Tacoma.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This pad is super high quality. The price is on the higher end for sure, but you can tell by the materials and design that Evoc intended on earning your money. Most notable would be the nice metal clips where others use plastic, and the nice rubberized material that seems much more appropriate to live outside in the rain than the other heavy duty nylon offerings. It's still super soft inside to protect your truck as well!

Unfortunately I returned this for a different pad since I struggled to find the perfect fit for my 2016 Ram's tailgate... they are absurdly thick and curved making it pretty difficult. For a more regular tailgate I imagine this would be very nice.

I also have a 2015 Ram and was curious about the fit over the stupid lard tailgate. Did you ever find one that did work?

Hey John,

I'd say that this Evoc one actually fit best visually for the stupid Ram tailgate. However, still wasn't perfect. Eventually I decided that I just had to accept that no tailgate pad would magically sit flat on the absurdly large and curved tailgate, and decided to go with the pad I thought would protect my truck and my bikes the best instead and live with the looks. I went with the Race Face pad since I liked the bits of extra padding to both protect and secure your bikes.

So if you really want the best aesthetic pad I think this evoc one is it, but like I said I would not get your hopes up to ever achieve perfection. For what it's worth, once I got over myself and just put the pad on I really have had any regrets. Works great, holds my bikes, doesn't look THAT bad, and life goes on! Sure beats not getting to drive my Ram :)

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Look no further for your next truck pad! Bomber, durable, protective and super awesome.

As a new truck owner I was on the fence between getting a truck pad or a bike rack. So glad I went with the truck pad to outfit the 2009 Taco.

I've taken my bike out to Moab a couple of times with this pad and every time I checked on the bike in the rear view there is nothing to worry about - stable and remains intact. Fits up to six bikes and keeps your truck safe from any scratches or dings.

Evoc continues to impress me. Love their stuff!

If you have any questions about truck pads vs. bike racks feel free to hit me up.
