E*thirteen components' methodology to wheels is a refreshing and effective solution to the rotational weight dilemma. By moving mass to the hub, via large flanges and shorter spokes, the TRS 29in Wheel accelerates fast without becoming a flex'y flier in the rough stuff. This design increases the acute angles formed within the rim/flange triangle and results in a claimed 70% reduction of stress placed on the spokes. The combination of short spokes and a structurally stiffer wheel design will be felt on the first voyage aboard a set of TRS wheels.
Within the hub's 6061 alloy flanges are angular contact bearings that roll fast and are well sealed against the elements. At the freehub, three pawls, with two sets of teeth, engage with 60 points on the drive ring for quick and positive ratcheting. Connecting the hub to the TLS tubeless compatible rim are quad-butted spokes. Alloy nipples ensure a low weight, and a LEX process brazes the eyelets for added strength where it's needed. The TLS rim profile delivers a solid connection between UST tires, and the rim's hook to eases inflation and prevent burping during heavy side loading.
- Wheel ready for all-day epics and enduro races alike
- CNC-machined aluminum hub has superior dent-resistance
- Tall flanges work with rim profile for stiffness and stability
- Six-degree engagement hubs keep you fast through corners

HI CC,
Can I swap my current Sram Freehub to this instead of the XD?
Thanks, FatGuy...
What model year are these wheels? Do they have the improved hubs (greased rather than oiled)? And is the rear compatible with an eleven speed cassette and 6 bolt disc?
Do these wheels come with extra spokes?
What is the difference in weight between 29” base TRS and TRS+ wheels?
Can you give me actual weighed weight for the base TRS wheels front & rear for 29”?
Hey TT,
Great question. The TRS weigh 1800 grams and the Plus version comes in at 1770. The weight difference is only about 30 grams which is negligible but the construction of the aluminum is going to be different. The TRS is a sleeved joint and the Plus comes with a welded joint. Essentially the difference comes down to durability. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to me directly at mconn@competitivecyclist.com
Do these come with QR end caps?
Hi Michael, they do not come with. They would have to be ordered separately. Feel free to shoot me an email if you have any additional questions!
What is the internal width of these rims?
Internal rim width is 30 mm.
I like 'em
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Upgraded my 21mm rims to these and instantly noticed a difference in handling. Also set them up with cush core so that is probably also contributing to the good trail feels. I've ridden them pretty hard already and they seems to be holding up well. My initial impressions: it was a worthy upgrade for the price.
