Just not that great

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I had problems with these tires from day 1 on a new Evil Following build. Side note: the Backcountry bike shop did a fantastic job of putting my bike together! The tires took forever to hold a seal. It probably took about 15 rides until they finally plugged up to hold air overnight. At first I thought maybe I needed some more sealant, so I added an ounce or two. Then, I thought maybe the rim tape wasn't done tightly enough, and I was ready to take it apart and redo it myself, but then I noticed sealant randomly bubbling out of the sidewalls. This would happen on just about every ride, until they finally sealed up. So, seems like the sidewalls are not made from the best material. By the time they finally did seal, they only lasted about another 15 rides before the tread was so trashed that they needed replacement. Usually, with a good pair of Maxxis tires, I get a full season of use, maybe even a season and a half. These made it halfway through one season. I was pretty disappointed in the durability. I won't blame the puncture I got on the rear tire on the actual tires, themselves, as punctures happen to even the best built rubber, but given the short lifespan and the long time it took for the tires to take on a seal, I can't say that they are very confidence inspiring for a trail/enduro rider. Every time I went out, I felt like I may leak too much air, or puncture the tire due to them not being durable enough. Then the puncture happened, and I bought a DHF/DHR combo the next day. Just do yourself a favor and get Maxxis tires, or another well-trust brand, especially if you ride decently aggressive on trail and enduro style trails. These ones just won't be able to keep up.
