Description

Put the hammer down in comfort.

Don't toss comfort to the wind when you're bringing your power to the peloton. Instead, saddle up on the Ergon SR Sport Gel Saddle for Women and take the sting out of chattery roads and crushing climbs. This women's-specific take on the saddle is built for flawless comfort throughout the miles, thanks to its orthopedic comfort foam, and strategically placed gel pads that dampen rugged vibrations from the road. In center you'll find a long cutout that's crafted to alleviate pressure from your most sensitive anatomy, while a wide, winged back supports your sit bones when you're in the drops hammering for your breakaway. To top it all off, Ergon employs a smooth but durable microfiber cover that allows you to move around on the saddle as needed, with minimal rubbing against your favorite bibs.

  • A supportive saddle for hammerfests and canyon climbs
  • Shape is designed with total comfort in the riding position
  • Center cutout relieves pressure from sensitive anatomy
  • Float over rough roads with gel-backed orthopedic foam

    Continued pain in sit bones

I bought this saddle after reading countless reviews in my efforts to research a new saddle. I had been using the factory saddle on my hybrid bike, but have been increasing the amount of riding I do. It is not significant compared to competitive riders, but I usually take a 15 mile ride once a week. Even with padded bicycle shorts, I was experience such significant pain in my sit bones that I wouldn’t be able to ride for a few days because I couldn’t tolerate being on the seat. I bought this Ergon because so many people seemed to love it! I tried several different methods for measuring my sit bone width, so I think I was accurate in choosing the size (M/L for me). I am 5’7” and an athletic 150 lbs. Unfortunately, I’ve used this saddle twice and have found I am still in significant pain. I rode 15 miles the first day and couldn’t stay in the saddle at all by the end of the ride. I then rode only 9 miles four days after that and I was miserable. I am super disappointed, but will continue my research. It seems like it works for plenty of people, but just not for me!

WIth Terry and Prologo,i had a bad lower back, front chafe, and pelvis/leg seam cycling boils. I can tell you how frustrating it is to stop cycling after 15-20 miles just because your lady bit is crying and you can no longer sit on your saddle...Not anymore with this new saddle. Pros: 1 No more chafing: Ergon has a wider butt seat and a narrower nose with a relief channel. So, my labia-specific problem is gone with this awesome saddle shape. No more back pain either. 2 I got the red saddle. Bright, deep red. I love the color. great quality. sleek design, sleek logo unlike some other bike companies. 3 Comes with matching bar tape. Great quality! 4. Long rides without break-in period. Did a 30mi 2 days ago. Did another 20mi today. That wouldn't normally fly with my old Prologo seat but now i can go all day on my bike without thinking about the pain in the v. 5. Light weigiht!!! Having compared multiple saddle weights, this is the lightest i can find sub $100. If you're still unsure: I am planning on doing a 300mi bike-packing trip. Before, i wasn't sure about my ability to do such a long trip without permanently damaging my lady bit or giving up from the sheer pain. I am now fully confident that i can do it. I finally feel like I can perform to my fullest ability. If you're having similar problems as me, please consider purchasing it. I wish i had looked into this wayyyy earlier to save my past self from all those painful rides!

    Really really like this seat!

    Familiarity:
    I've used it several times

I bought this for my Liv Thrive because the seat on it killed my rear and this seat performs as advertised. It definitely puts all the pressure on my sit bones, as they call them, and takes it off my sensitive frontal area, which is what I was hoping for. I’ve been on several long rides with the seat and didn’t come home with a sore rear end. I will note however, that it is pretty uncomfortable without my padded bike shorts. Otherwise, it’s a great seat. I’m considering getting the one they make for mountain bikes too for my other bike.

    Love this saddle!

This is the third saddle I have tried on my new road bike and it is terrific. I have put about twenty rides on it so far and this saddle is just the ride width, length, and I appreciate the cutout. The padding is just enough. I ordered the small size after going through the Ergon website where you enter in your measurements. It fits me perfectly. And getting it on sale was an extra bonus!

    Great Saddle

    Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Picked this up in hopes that it would work after my wife has had trouble with some other saddles. She really digs it! Super comfortable and a nice sleek design that goes with her bike. Seems like it should be pretty durable as well!

    Ergon Gets It

The Ergon SR Gel Sport Saddle is quickly climbing my power rankings for road+gravel saddles. I tried out this saddle over a few days riding in southern Utah, with lots of climbing, lots of descending and a fair bit of chip-seal pavement just to keep things interesting. I really like the relief channel in the saddle, it felt much better to me than my current saddle without. As mentioned a lot, saddles are *very* personal, but I find this one to be worth a go! I went with the medium/large, after feeling like the small/medium had my butt bones just a bit over the edge.

    Thank you Ergon!

    Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Saddles reviews can be tough. What works for me, may not work for you. However, if you have been looking for a comfortable saddle with a cut-out to relive pressure, this one is worth a shot. Ergon gets feedback from riders of all abilities to make a product that will work for as many folks as possible. This is mounted on my gravel bike and found the support to be in all the right places for a position tends to be more aggressive than a mountain bike.
