SM Pro Saddle

From multi-day tours through the mountains to post-work laps on your favorite trails, the SM Pro Saddle ensures you no longer need to live with discomfort on any ride. This new generation of pressure-relieving saddles is tailored to the male anatomy, and optimized for the requirements of MTB touring, trail riding, and all-mountain shredding. And in typical Ergon fashion, it's developed using an interdisciplinary team of sports scientists, industrial designers, engineers, and test riders to ensure the best possible comfort for these applications.

The key to the SM Pro Saddle's exceptional comfort is the anatomically-optimized pressure relief channel in the sensitive perineal area. This is paired with lightweight AirCell padding under your sit bones. Together, they mitigate numbness and discomfort so you can hammer out the miles in blissful comfort. Additionally, OrthoCell inlays in the seating area provide the best possible pressure distribution and are lighter and more durable than gel padding. The saddle's flattened tail and Y-shape guarantee freedom of movement as you shift your weight on the bike, while sliding flanks help reduce friction when pedaling.

Best saddles on the market

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

When it comes to mountain bike saddles, there's no real competition to Ergon. Spesh makes great saddles for road, but MTB is all Ergon. Highly recommend, but I also recommend that you figure out your sitbone width in person with an Ergon dealer, or know your sit-bone width. If you dont know your sitbone width, Ergon has a calc on their website where you put in hips, height and weight and its always small. But I know my width and it sizes me M/L. I have all ERgon saddles on my 4 MTB's and they're the best.

Mixed feedback

I've spent hours to measure properly size I need and always Ergon tools were recommending S/M size. Quality of materials is definitely better than my stock saddle. But I can't say it's the best saddle I ever used. It's good for sure but not the best. Maybe I just need large size. Another point is actual outfit on you. Biking on this saddle would be better if your shorts are designed for MTB.
