GA2 Grips

Developed in collaboration with former DH World Champion, Fabien Barel, the Ergon GA2 Grips answer the call for an all-mountain and gravity-oriented grip that ensure soft comfort through bumpy rides. The GravityControl rubber compound delivers a superior tactile feel to enhance control on difficult trails, while the ergonomic shape fits the contours of your hand to substantially reduce arm pump when the ride goes on seemingly forever. Their varied thickness allows for greater vibration damping where you need it most, and the the lightweight composite inboard clamps are extremely secure and twist-resistant for a locked-in performance.

Color is not as pictured

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I ordered the mid summer blue because in the pictures it looks like yeti turquoise. It is not turquoise, it is more like a Duke Blue Devil's blue. I did some digging around the web and looks like at some point Ergon changed the shade of blue and no longer offers a yeti turquoise.

Thicker Grips but No Extra Squish

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I bought these to get a larger grip version of the Ergons. I've been running GA3 (small wings) for about 3 years and decided to get something larger as the GA3 have felt small at times. I read review about their good vibration dampening so I decided to try these over the ESI Extra Chunky. I should have gone with the ESI. These grips are noticeably larger than the GA3, but the rubber feels the same thickness. My hand that normally goes a little numb on a ride was completely numb. I tried different grip positions, but couldn't find a comfortable one to use with these. It felt like a large, hard plastic grip with a thin rubber overcoat. Just not what I expected from Ergon. The GA3 are good grips. If you want something thicker, go with the ESI.

Good but weird creak on left grip

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I returned the first one i got because the left grip would occasionally rotate or creak. The movement was very very minor but enough to make you think about it... Returned it with no issues for a full refund (thank you!). I switched back to my old grips but decided i liked the ergons more so bought another pair... and guess what, same issue. I've decided to put up with it as they work better with my broken wrist than my previous favs (the ODIs).

Extremely comfortable.

Probably the most comfortable lock on grips I have tried. They dampen vibrations, and feel great in the hand. The vibration damping has a drawback as it mutes the feedback you feel through the bars, but it is a worthwhile trade.

True love

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

It's like I've found my soulmate. After a couple decades of mountain biking I've finally, FINALLY landed on a grip that's completely comfortable. I've got big hands, and typically wear XL-XXL gloves. Bought the GA2 Fats, and headed out for a multi-day mission. I didn't even realize until half way through the second day... my hands still had feeling! It was glorious. No more finding 10 feet of flat to shake blood into my fingertips. No more sketchy descents where I couldn't feel my brake levers. Nope, just comfort. They offer ample cush, and tons of grip. I'm yours forever.

Color not as expected

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These definitely inspire a little bit of confidence, coming from simple stock grips. I initially went for these because of the color. I have a Voile strap and pedals that match in color so I wanted new handlebar grips to match as well, and the picture on here (and on the Ergon website) definitely shows a lighter blue (one might call it cyan). It is definitely NOT a light blue at all. It is very much a navy blue. Good thing these grips are so nice. So I'll keep them.

Best Grips I've used

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I already thought the GA2s were the best grip on the market after trying many alternatives (ESI, ODI, ect.), but having tried the FAT version, I have a new favorite. I have larger hands, but by no means enormous and these are great.
