M60 Forty Plus 29in Industry Nine Boost Wheelset

ENVE's M60 wheelsets are among the most popular in its range and for good reason. Few wheelsets are able to blend lightweight with the confidence-boosting stiffness and the durability needed to crush technical descents. The rims are damn-near XC light with enough big-hit durability to stand up to difficult shuttle runs. ENVE takes this same magic formula from the M630 and M635 and optimizes the rim profile for the added volume of plus tires with the M60 Forty Plus 29in Industry Nine Boost Wheelset. Now you can enjoy all of the traction and cushion of bigger tires with the snappy responsiveness and the on-rails feel we all love from ENVE wheels.

The rims used on this 29 plus wheelset weigh in at a super impressive 485g, which when you consider that the internal width is a cavernous 40mm wide, the widest rim of the entire M-series line, it's even more spectacular. Much of this weight savings is accomplished by the now de rigueur hookless beads, which is both lighter and more impact resistant than traditional hooked beads. The internal width is perfect for plus tires in the 2.8 to 3.2-inch range providing a rounder tire profile so you can corner with authority, and enjoy a larger footprint for better traction everywhere on the trail.

ENVE also worked very hard to tune the ride of the M60 Plus to help exploit all of the performance possible from the bigger rubber. Several prototype rims were built in-house and tested in the lab and on the trails and compared with other plus rims on the market until the perfect balance of ride quality, durability, and lightweight was met. The shallow profile of these Plus rims adds a huge degree of vertical compliance, helping to reduce rider fatigue and help the wheels track through a rock garden versus fighting a bike that is deflecting off of every rock.

The rims are the most exciting part of this wheelset, but it's also worth noting that these wheels are hand built in Utah, to exacting standards, providing the longevity you'd expect out of a class-leading wheel system. They're laced to some in-house favorite Industry Nine Torch hubs, with Centerlock disc rotor interface. Additionally, it comes set up with an XD driver for use with SRAM's 1x 11 and 12-speed drivetrains or an HG freehub for Shimano 9 through 11-speed mountain cassettes. The Torch hubs have become a staple for their lightweight construction, remarkable durability, and super quick engagement, which makes them a perfect match for ENVE hoops, and we wouldn't be surprised if these wheels end up transferring over to a few of your next bike builds.
