M60 Forty Plus 27.5in DT Swiss 350 Boost Wheelset

ENVE's M60 wheelsets are perhaps the most popular in its range and for good reason. Few wheelsets are able to blend lightweight with the confidence-boosting stiffness and the durability needed to crush technical descents. The rims are damn-near XC light with enough big-hit durability to stand up to difficult shuttle runs. ENVE takes this same magic formula from the M60 and M60HV and optimizes the rim profile for the added volume of plus tires with the M60 Forty Plus 27.5in DT Swiss 350 Boost Wheelset. Now you can enjoy all of the traction and cushion of bigger tires with the snappy responsiveness and the on-rails feel we all love from ENVE wheels.

The rims used on this wheelset weighs in at a super impressive 480g, which when you consider that the internal width is a cavernous 40mm wide, the widest rim of the entire M-series line, it's even more spectacular. Much of this weight savings is accomplished by the now de rigueur hookless beads, which is both lighter and more impact resistant than traditional hooked beads. The internal width is perfect for plus tires in the 2.8 to 3.0-inch range providing a round tire profile so you can corner with authority, and enjoy a larger footprint for better traction everywhere on the trail.

ENVE also worked very hard to tune the ride of the M60 Plus to help exploit all of the performance possible from the bigger rubber. Several prototype rims were built in-house and tested in the lab and on the trails and compared with other plus rims on the market until the perfect balance of ride quality, durability, and lightweight were met. The shallow profile of these Plus rims adds a huge degree of vertical compliance, helping to reduce rider fatigue and help the wheels track through a rock garden versus fighting a bike that is deflecting off of every rock.

The rims are the most exciting part of this wheelset, but it's also worth noting that these wheels are hand built in Utah, to exacting standards, providing the longevity you’d expect out of a class-leading wheel system. They’re laced to DT Swiss 350 hubs, with an IS 6-bolt rotor interface. Additionally, it comes set up with an XD driver for use with SRAM’s one-by 11 and 12-speed drivetrains. The 350s have become a staple for their lightweight construction, remarkable durability, and tool-free service, which makes them a perfect match for an ENVE wheelset, and we wouldn't be surprised if these wheels end up transferring over to a few of your next bike builds.
