ENVE created the Gravel Road Fork to meet the needs of all-road adventurers wanting to break free from the constricted guidelines of road and cyclocross-specific fork options. With clean, flat-mount disc anchors, ample tire clearance, and compatibility with ENVE's separately sold carbon fiber fender, this fork is more than ready to tackle all the gravel, cobbles, and otherwise rough-surfaced roads you can find in any weather conditions.
ENVE opts for a 12mm thru-axle with this fork to increase stability and stiffness compared to forks with quick-release dropouts. This serves to improve braking and front end tracking for a more responsive and confident ride on everything from sweeping, autumnal descents to spring showers on a gravel fire road. As an added bonus, the thru-axle system means the axle only has one place to sit, eliminating the power-sucking and annoyingly noisy rotor rub that so often plagues quick release systems should a few specks of gravel dust work their way into the dropout.
Never one to ignore durability and weight issues, ENVE fashions the entire fork as a whole—including the steerer tube. This one-piece construction not only results in exceptionally clean lines, but allows for uninterrupted carbon fiber layering which increases strength while also reducing weight due to the lack of a need for extra reinforcement around junction points. You can ride with confidence that this fork will provide a light, snappy ride for miles and miles over the years.
ENVE understands that gravel and all-road adventures often require a beefier tire than your standard 32mm cross skinnies, so it constructs the Gravel Road Fork to accommodate tires up to 35mm wide for some extra cushion and traction over loose and bumpy terrain. You can run those narrower nibs on smoother days, and rest assured the clearance is there when you need to bring out the burly treads.
The ENVE Carbon Disc Cross Fork is available with a 1.125-inch to 1.25-inch tapered steerer tube and is compatible with disc braking systems.
