The cornerstone of Enve.
Since its inception, the Utah-based Enve has been synonymous with quality. And while this is a frequently thrown-around term, we're able to say it with confidence, as no one replicates Enve's level of engineering, outside-the-box construction approach, or design. In a word, you could summarize its secret to success as 'proprietary,' but to us, the finished product speaks more volume than mere words are able to provide. Case in point is the new 2.0 Road Fork. The cornerstone of all Enve fork designs, the 2.0 stands unrivaled in all of the characteristics that you require from a competition-level fork.
As is customary for Enve, the 2.0 Road Fork is absent from any co-molding, bonding, or drilling. So, this leaves Enve to do what it does best, 100% molded carbon fiber. Using a proprietary construction method, everything from the steerer tube to the dropout is molded as one piece of carbon fiber. However, the 2.0 is carbon-centric for carbon's sake. At the beginning of the design process, Enve engineers contemplate what aspects of contemporary, commonplace design are able to be improved upon. From there, the shape is calculated, which leads to the configuration of the carbon layup. Once this prototype is created, Enve repeatedly reworks the design for improvements in overall weight and ride quality.
As a result of this exhaustive process, the 2.0 fork tips the scales at a mere 350 grams with an uncut steerer tube. It's also worth noting that this was achieved while allowing a maximum tire clearance of up to 28c. However, Enve is aware that low weights are irrelevant if the ride quality is sub par. That's why Enve's exclusive tooling is used to create a fork shape that's completely tuned to competitive demands. This means that handling, vibration absorption, and rigidity are all at the forefront of the design process. Additionally, the absence of any drilling for the brake caliper also contributes to the aforementioned, as well as to strength. To achieve this, Enve uses the same patented principle as with its molded spoke and valve stem holes. This process relies on the incorporation of continuous, unbroken carbon fibers around the hole, providing strength while actually reducing weight.
The Enve 2.0 Road Fork is available in the color Black and with a 1.5 inch steerer tube diameter. Please that this fork comes with a 350mm steerer, and it also includes a compression plug. Enve does not approve this fork for tandem bicycles, riders over 350 pounds, or for stack heights exceeding 40mm. It also features a crown race diameter of 44mm, a 43mm fork rake, and an axle-crown of 367mm.
