TorqTite PF 386EVO to 24mm A/C Steel Bearing Bottom Bracket

Creaking and squeaking are features of press-fit bottom brackets rather than bugs, but Enduro Bearings is looking to change that with its TorqTite PF 386EVO to 24mm A/C Steel Bearing Bottom Bracket. Unlike traditional press-fit models, the two halves of the TorqTite actually thread together inside 386EVO bottom bracket shells, forming a secure crank platform that reduces creaks and locks out road dirt and grime.

The TorqTite is compatible with Shimano 24mm and SRAM GXP crank spindles and features stainless 440C steel angular contact bearings that reduce friction and increase efficiency for the life of the bottom bracket. Note that you'll need two TorqTite wrenches (not included) to properly install the TorqTite PF 386EVO.

Lasted 4 months

This lasted 4 months, then the insane creaking began. The only solution I found was to replace this BB with a different one. The BB that originally came installed in my bike lasted much longer without any creaking.

Best BB386 Solution

I've put it through the wringer

After banging my head against the wall with creaking BB386 bottom bracket to Shimano conversions; I finally bucked up and went with this option, and it is exactly what you want and need with a BB386 frame and Shimano or Sram GXP cranks. I cannot overstate my satisfaction with this bottom bracket. This is the reason we now have these on our site, as I have been using them with all of my BB386 builds, since I purchased mine in September 2015. It does not install as easily as other thread-fit type bottom brackets, and does require one cup to be pressed fully into the frame, and the other cup to be started with a press. Installation is not easy; but at the same time, this should never require service, so once and you're done! That said, I did just swap mine from one frame to another, and it was relatively easy compared to my expectations. One other important note is that you will need Enduro's Torqtite specific wrench for installation. If you have or are getting a BB386 frame, and have a 24mm spindle crank, this is the absolute best option available today. Bradley Gehrig Customer Account Manager Office: 801–204-4541

Does using this bottom bracket in a 386evo bb involve using loctite or grease as part of the install or is it a dry install? thanks Bob
