Water resistant at best

I recently put these to the test during a wet and muddy gravel event. They did fine until I hit ankle-deep mud and completely submerged them at a ditch crossing. I think under less severe circumstances they would do better. However, considering the price of these socks, I think a nice pair of wool socks would do the job just as well.
