They are what they are

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used these since they first came out and have found them to be pretty much as expected. Are they light? Yes. Are the walls thin? Well yes, that's how they made them light. I have found that after a few months of use I've experienced the leaking issues that others have mentioned, but by that point these bottles are pretty much scraped up and shot from being taken in and out of the cage and being out in the sun, etc. If you purchase these, know that you'll probably get a few good months out of them and then toss them. I don't tend to keep water bottles for too long in some giant collection, so I don't mind. I haven't had any issues with the top closing of its own accord during a race or anything. The top is designed to pop up to a certain level and remain there, and it has done just that for me anyways. If you only open it a bit and not to the full open point, maybe that is when it will slide back towards closed. I feel that I got what I wanted in purchasing these...A light bottle that did its duty for several months and then was binned. For $7 that was worth it in my book.

Did they not test these?

Walls are so thin that it can’t rebound after squeezing. Valve doesn’t stay popped up.

Perfect review. I have the exact same issues. It is incredible to think they provide bottles to the pros. Their Corsa bottles (minus the print) were perfect.

No wonder riders throw these away.

The plastic on these bottles is cheap and will wrinkle if you bottle cage is too tight. Yes, they are light. But they also leak if you squeeze them too much. Also the mouthpiece doesn’t stay open when you’re drinking. When you’re in a race trying to drink at speed the last thing you want to be doing is fiddling with your bottle. Buy something else.

water bottle caps do not stay open. Not well designed
