DT Swiss XM401 Wheelset DT 350 - 27.5in $999.00
Speedy XC hoops.
When DT Swiss laced up the 27.5in XM401 rims with DT350 hubs, we're pretty sure that something at least a little bit magical happened. The lightweight and quick-rolling capabilities or the XM401 rim shine through, while a rugged and tough hub offers fast actuation and power through rough terrain. When combined, this wheelset is perfect for the XC adventurer who wants to charge into the deep wooded miles of singletrack that lay beyond the local trail network, or gravel riders with a hankering for exploration and a craving for wider tires.
The DT Swiss XM401 rim, seen in the XM1501 Spline One wheels, finds the happy medium between wide and light, since so many riders are asking for wider tires in today's market. The XM401 achieves the width you're looking for by dint of its machined 22.5mm internals, capable of rolling with a 1.9-2.5in tire. It comes ready to roll tubeless, enabling you to fully take advantage of the wider tires by dumping out some tire pressure for a plush ride that better grips roots and rocks.
Laced up to the XM401 is a DT 350 hub, synonymous with reliability and burly strength that holds up to your backwoods adventure. The freehub offers 18 points of engagement for snappy responsiveness when you put power down on the cranks. The 350 hub is made to be just as reliable and precise as its higher end sibling, but holds off on some of the weight-shaving parts, making it more affordable for the everyday rider who is self-sponsored.

Perfect Gravel Wheelset
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I got these wheels for a gravel build and have to say I love them. They are stouter than some road/cx rims so I know they'll withstand my abuse, and the hubs are proven - I have 3 other sets of DT Swiss hubs already. Freehubs and end caps for different axle standards are readily available for these as are upgraded star ratchets to improve engagement (the stock star ratchets don't feel great in that respect). The rims are on the narrow side for mountain tires but work fantastic for gravel tires, WTB Byways in 650x47 mounted and set up tubeless beautifully. I never got around to weighing these but based on a below comment 1650g isn't too shabby.
Would this wheelset be compatibale with an Altus 8 speed groupset?
this would not accept an 8 speed cassette unfortunately.
Is this 12mm x 142mm?
hey Jack, yes this is 12X142
what is the weight for this wheelset?
880g rear, 770g front
So 1650g out of the box
