Why We Like The 240S Conversion End Caps

DT Swiss wouldn't leave you without the option of adapting your beloved 240 hubs to different retention systems, and its 240S Conversion End Caps are proof of that. Convert your quick-release road disc wheels to thru axle-ready for a stiffer, more dependable disc setup.

The 12 x 100mm option is compatible with 240S CenterLock "fifteen" front hubs, 240S CenterLock straight-pull front hubs, model-year 2014 15 x 100mm white 180 front hubs, and 2016 RC Spline black hubs.

The 15 x 100mm option is compatible with model-year 2011 and newer 240 CenterLock disc hubs with 18mm outer diameter axle. It does work for 15 x 110mm Boost, as well.

The 12 x 142/148/157mm Shimano/SRAM option works with DT Swiss 180, 240, and 440 mountain hubs with 12 x 142mm, 12 x 148mm, and 12 x 157mm hub spacing. The same end caps are used for all three hub spacings. They do NOT convert non-Boost hubs to Boost spacing. Note that there are options for both Shimano/SRAM standard freehubs, and SRAM XD freehubs.

The 12 x 135mm option works with model-year 2011 and newer 240, 350, and 440 hubs. It converts these hubs from standard Quick-Release to 12 x 135mm thru-axle. This option also serves to convert 150mm Quick-Release hubs to 12 x 150mm thru-axle.

The 12 x 142mm Road option works with DT Swiss 180, 240, and 350 Road hubs with 11-speed freehub bodies/cassettes. They are compatible with classic flanged hubs only, not straight-pull hubs.

The SRAM XD option also works for 12 x 157mm, 12 x 177mm, and 12 x 197mm hub spacing.

  • Conversion caps to keep your DT Swiss hubs rolling
  • Ideal for swapping wheels to new standards
  • Convert QR to Thru Axle-ready for stiffer control
  • Compatible with an array of freehub/bike combinations
  • Please read description above for specific compatbility

What do you think about this product?

Will these endcaps work on Roval CLX40 hubs, since they use DT Swiss internals?

Is there an end cap for an XDR body?

Will these work if my brakes are 6-bolt? I need to convert the front from 15x100 to 12x100.

Easy Fix

I needed to convert some dt dh hubs to 157 and these worked perfectly. Super easy to install.

Representative without knowledge

I returned this product before using it

Customer representative suggested a DT Swiss End Cap adapter which was not compatible with my hub. Since I live in Brazil, I only was aware of this problem when the part arrived here, after paying significant import taxes. Now they will only refund me after the part arrives again at their Return Facility. Not to mention that they won't refund me for the import taxes. Do not recommend for international buyers. A Cap For Any Occasion

I've put it through the wringer

DT Swiss's end cap selection can get confusing, but they have conversions for any frame standard (give us a call if you need assistance picking the right one). Quality on these is excellent and unlike some other brands' end caps, they don't fall out. Sometimes you'll need a vice or puller (Unior makes one) to remove these from the hub.

A necessity.

I've used it several times

Needed to convert a front wheel from 15x100 TA to 12x100 TA for use on a different CX/gravel bike. Super easy to install; but requires a little effort to remove if you need to swap back & forth.

Easy installation, everything works great.

Is there a spacer that comes with these? Does the thru axel make direct contact with the bearing? I'd be converting from a 12mm thru setup.

easy to install

I've put it through the wringer

easy to put on, no issues on a couple of these now.

I have a 240 hub (boost) with a shimano driver. Thinking of converting to XD / SRAM. Do I need a new XD driver and both end caps? Or just the drive side endcap (and hence my current hub non-driver side endcap will continue to work)? Thanks a lot!

Easy conversion to 142 thru axle

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Works great, but has to be used with DT Swiss hubs that are compatible (listed on DT Swiss' website). Super easy tool-less installation!

They work but a little pricey.

I've put it through the wringer

Big pro is that if you were running a qr skewer of some sort you can easily convert your wheels to 142mm. These will not the solve problem folks are encountering when trying to jump to the new 148mm boost standard. These adapters will work on both 142mm and 148 DT boost hubs but they will not make a 142mm into a 148mm. Your will need to buy a new boost hub for that.

what option do I need for my dt350 rear mountain bike hub? I currently have 9mm qr and need to go to 12x142. Im running shimano 10 speed.

This conversion works on both DT350 and DT240 hubs. Be aware that end caps are freehub specific. You will either get Shimano/Sram (Older 10spd) or the Sram XD (Newer 11 and 12 Spd) *End cap kits do not include the thru-axle.

Would this allow me to convert Shimano RX31 from QA to 12mm thru axle?

Sorry, these are DT swiss hub spacers. Please check the link to Dt Swiss website:

End caps make it easy

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I needed to convert a set of wheels from QR to TA...these made it simple.

in order to convert DT240S QR hubs to TA do i need the TA as well as the end caps?
