Ready to go.
When you get ready to go on a trail ride, you aren't as concerned with having the fastest, most race-ready shoe available, you just want something that's comfortable and will be consistently functional so you can focus on ripping berms and dicing new lines rather than squished toes. Diadora's X Trivex Plus II Women's Shoe fits this description aptly.
Sharing a name with its women's road shoe, Diadora's X Trivex Plus II Shoe also shares an affordable price tag with its road sibling, as well as the sleek redesign that much of Diadora's line underwent for 2016. The shoe's synthetic Suprell-Air Mesh upper is supplemented with airy mesh panels and comes complete with the secure, wrap-like fit of Diadora's Morpho Cage upper, ensuring your toes can breathe out on the trails without a sloppy fit.
The X Trivex Plus II is built on Diadora's Woman Last, which is constructed to accommodate the generally more dramatic taper into the heel that women's feet often have when compared to men's. The fit is further dialed with Inside Ergonomic Heel Support to help prevent frustrating slippage when you're pushing towards the crux of a tough climb.
Along the top of the shoe, two hook-and-loop straps work with a ratcheting buckle to allow you to achieve a secure fit that ensures reliable power transfer without subjecting your feet to pressure points or hot spots. Further contributing to power transfer, the composite-reinforced sole that covers the bottom of the shoe comes prepared to dutifully deliver your hard-earned watts to the pedals. The sole, covered with grippy rubber lugs for traction on treacherous stretches of trail, earns a mountain-appropriate stiffness rating of 6 out of 12 on Diadora's overall stiffness scale.
