Perfecto Light Bib Short

While De Marchi's Perfecto Bib Shorts have long been staples in our cycling wardrobe, there are days when the mercury soars and we yearn for something just as comfortable, but a little lighter. Enter the Perfecto Light Bib Shorts — De Marchi's newest gift to those of us who crave the familiar Perfecto comfort, but with a weight, and fabric reduction. The Perfecto Light bibs shed 30% in weight above the traditional Perfecto by utilizing lighter fabrics, and a slimmer chamois. Anatomic modeling allows the designers to craft the bibs with selective compression on muscle groups, while different materials follow your leg movements through every phase of the pedal stroke, giving just the right amount of support, whether you're in your power zone, or dead spot.

Just as we have come to expect, De Marchi employs its extensive expertise and Italian eye for detail into the Perfecto Light Bibs. This starts with the meticulously woven fabrics that panel your thighs, offering generous stretch, and exceptional wicking properties to keep you cool when the temperatures soar into the triple-digits. De Marchi's exclusive Elastic Interface CRM-Light chamois offers support from below, with perforated high-density foam that soaks up jarring vibrations when the pavement is less than perfect. The hems are finished off with oversized reflective leg grippers, with integral gel stripes to add an extra level of hold on the fit, and up top, seamless bib straps secure things in place without cutting in.

  • De Marchi's most comfortable bibs lost some weight for summer
  • Featherweight fabrics shed 30% of weight below Perfecto
  • Selective compression supports key muscle groups
  • Mesh back allows total breathability in heat
  • CRM-Light chamois cushions sit bones from jarring roads
  • Seamless bib straps support without cutting in
  • Lock hems in place with oversized reflective leg grippers

These bibs fall short

I want to like these bib shorts but they fall short. Or should I say run short in the leg. The short inseam is made worse by the leg grippers that don't prevent the legs from riding up while you pedal. The lite weight fabric appears to be the undoing of these shorts. While the fabric is light and airy there is very little compression from the material. The lack of compression and as mentioned above the not so grippy leg grippers has me constantly pulling the legs down to keep them in place. Be warned. The inseam runs short and unless you have huge sprinter quads they are going to fill loose.

These light versions have a looser fit than the regular Perfecto. Close enough though that I stayed in size Large in both these and the Perfecto. Like the Perfecto better but these light versions are a little cheaper and cooler in hot weather. Only ridden on them 2x but really like them. By comparison, I love the Perfecto regular version.
